LR Building

I had a great experience with LR Building. We brought them in to repair a chimney breast removal which had been completely botched by previous owners. Lee was immediately responsive by phone and email. He came out quickly for a quote visit and gave me genuine/honest advice (including where he thought work in fact did NOT need doing, which was very refreshing). Ricky and Gary, who did the work itself, were brilliant. They were professional, friendly, always bang on time, and completed the work to a very high standard. They cleaned up so that the site was spotless before they left each day. Having had some bad experiences in the past, I'm very happy that I have found LR Building and they will be my first choice in future.

I needed a French drain putting in on 3 sides of my house, prior to insulation work. Lee was prompt to come round for a look and to give a quote. His team then carried out the work over the next 2 weeks and did a very nice job for me. They were considerate - arriving when they said they would and telling me if they were going to be slightly delayed. In a nutshell: a good job, and good communication throughout, very professional. I would unhesitatingly recommend them and use them again.

We used LR Building to work on the remains of the Chimney in our loft space. The Chimney Breast had been removed years ago and needed work to bring it up to date with present building standards. We needed the work to be done urgently as we are selling our house, Lee visited us and explained what needed to be done and pulled out all the stops arranging surveyor visits etc and took the work on immediately. Lee and his brilliant team arrived on time every day and worked tirelessly, making sure that we understood everything they were doing. Once the work was done everything was left clean and tidy and all rubbish was removed without delay. A second surveyor visit was arranged and certification for the work was issued. I would not hesitate to recommend LR Building to anyone looking for a reliable and professional Building Company.

Lee and the team have a good work ethic always punctual and are always cleaning up after themselves. The work is of a very high standard, could not fault the wall and the finish on the plaster was a very smooth finish. To say me and the wife are happy with the finished product would be an understatement. We would definitely use Lee and the team again on any future building works.

LR building were preferred contractors to undertake works to my property as they had the most competitive quote. Lee was very professional, explained everything clearly and seemed like a nice, genuine fella. Works carried out was repointing to external brickwork, repair guttering and facia and repair to chimney stack, which were all done to a very satisfactory high standard. The job was done in the time stated and Lee was neat and tidied up as he went along. The company had good communications and always answered my telephone calls. I would definitely use LR builders again.

Lee and his team did a great job on taking the wall down and opening the room up to give more space. The work was finished on time and to a high standard. I was really impressed with Lee's expertise and helpful advice in working out the best solution to my needs. Highly recommended.

I contacted LR building after a nightmare with another builder who left the job in an unsafe way Lee visited the site and as soon as he see the problem he temporarily made it safe with supports there and then, which I was grateful. The work continued 2 weeks time and was completed and passed by building control who also he assisted with. I cannot thank Lee enough and his team, who not just completed and rectified the other builders mistakes, but for making my mind at ease. I fully recommend LR Building Knowing you have a professional builder who knows what there doing.

Lee's team have done excellent work on our house. After having a Damp Survey carried out, Lee came round and assessed the work to be carried out. A further visit with Lee's foreman was arranged. The work mainly involved uncovering the damp course, due to the ground being too high outside of the kitchen. Lee's team were friendly, very hard-working and always left things clean and tidy at the end of the day. They happily answered any questions we had and were always helpful. They stayed in contact via phone to keep us informed of arrival times while checking this was convenient. An excellent team. Job well done!

Lee and his team have done a great job on the improvements and repairs needed on a newly purchased Victorian end terrace house. We had damp problems in living and dining rooms, caused by high external ground levels. After having a number of building companies recommending damp injection solutions, Lee was the only one to get to the root cause of the problem. The company did a great job with external drainage and internal waterproofing and re-plastering. Did such a good job also put down a new engineered wood floor for us. Although not the cheapest initial quote, we feel the work is well worth it.

I felt totally relieved and in the right hands having contacted Lee after a building company badly supported our chimney . Lee was very forth coming and helpful with information and guidance on my initial contact and well before we had decided to engage his services. On engaging his service he organised a team to start the work quite quickly, which after having the breast supported for a number of months felt like a real burden lifted. I can now complete on the decorating so the end of the tunnel is in sight.

We had a growing problem with a damp outside wall, caused by failing guttering. We also had a concern about a gap under the slab foundation. Lee responded quickly to our call and immediately provided a diagnosis. The gap under the slab was only the route of a soak away pipe, but Lee recommended we dig out a little to take the soil further below the damp course and level the ground out - which I did myself. He recommended replacing some of the guttering - which we knew needed doing - but he didn't ever try to suggest that all of it needed doing (as some builders might!). The job was done quickly and effectively. We'd definitely use them again.

I found LR Building Services on Which? Trusted Traders. From start to finish the service provided by Lee was excellent and very professional. Communication was very good from the onset and Lee managed to fit me in fairly quickly in reference to installing two air bricks and fixing a supporting joist for my bay ceiling. The workmanship was very good, and the work was carried out on time and cleanly. The price quoted for the job was competitive. Overall I have had a very good experience working with LR Building Services.

After finding LR Building through Which? Trusted Traders, I contacted Lee to discuss some alterations I wanted to my kitchen chimney breast. From my first meeting, I was really impressed with his professionalism. Whilst the alterations were a straightforward job for their experienced team (increasing the height of the chimney opening and inserting a new lintel), a past experience with another builder had left me feeling a bit nervous. By carefully explaining exactly what they planned to do, Lee and his amazing team immediately put my mind at rest. Martin (Action) was an absolute pleasure to have on site and despite it being a dirty job, somehow my kitchen ended up looking cleaner when they’d finished than it did to begin with! I couldn’t be happier with the finished work and would highly recommend LR Building.

I found LR Building via Which? Trusted Traders. I purchased a property where the removed chimney stacks were incorrectly supported at loft level and did not meet current building regulations. I contacted Lee Ricketts who was very professional and knowledgeable. He visited the site and told me what was required to rectify the problem to meet current building regs. Lee and his team did the work to a high standard and he also liased with my Structural Engineer and Building Control who certified the work carried out to meet the correct regulations. I would highly recommend LR Building and his team to anyone who is looking for a quality building team.

After recently clearing ivy off our old garden wall (possibly 80-90 years old), we discovered the wall was very wobbly with lots of serious cracks and crumbling pieces. It was so wobbly I stopped letting my children play in the garden unsupervised for fear that it would topple down on them. Lee provided a reasonable quote and promptly started work on it, using reclaimed London stock bricks and keeping his pointing sympathetic to the original wall. He was extremely reliable, happy to work on the wall in our absence while we were at work, and very easily to get hold of if we had any queries. He "stitched" together lots of sections of wall either side of cracks, built new piers to support the wall and reprinted where necessary. He came across as extremely knowledgeable about period buildings and gave us lots of advice about maintenance to the exterior of our Georgian property. We were very pleased with his customer service and quality of work and have asked him back to quote for further work on the façade of our house.

We hired Lee and his team to switch around two rooms in our flat, turning what was a tiny kitchen into a cosy reception room, and a reception room that had become the room you dump things in when you can't find a place for them, into a spacious kitchen/diner. Both Lee and his team were thorough and friendly throughout. There were a few snags. Owing to a mix-up, we were left longer than we'd like without hot water or heating, and we weren't blown away by the kitchen supplier Lee recommended. That said, Lee and his brilliant site manager, Ricky, sorted out any glitches fast and kept us in the loop. They worked whatever hours they needed to get the job done, and they didn't consider the work finished until we were happy with every detail. We'd definitely work with them again.

Lee came to give an estimate for restoration work on my cottage. He was prompt and aware of the do's and don'ts of old property in a Conservation Area. A written quote followed, and within a week the work was started. I consider this work was value for money and am happy I chose the Company. I am extremely pleased with the professional standard and high quality of the results to the soffits, facia and porch, plus the fact that the site was left clean. The neighbours too have commented positively on the work! Lee is now coming back next month to tackle the pointing and the brickwork. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lee and his company to anyone wanting a perfect job.
