Mel's Computer Care Limited

As a result of my PC failing I found a local repair shop and asked whether they could repair it. Due to its age, it was not possible. As I was there I checked what PC's they had for sale. I found a PC that I liked and asked them to transfer the data onto it. This was done very quickly and a couple of days later I was able to collect it. I was very pleased with the PC and began to use it in order to get used to its layout, as it was quite different from my original PC. A few days later I needed to use my printer and found that I could not print. I therefore carried out simple checks but without success I therefore contacted the shop and explained the issue. They were very positive in wishing to correct the problem. As the computer was within the guarantee period we agreed a date. On the date the issue was resolved by remote control from the shop to my PC at home. The fault was removed reasonably quickly. I found the staff very helpful and they recommended that I cover any potential problems by taking out breakdown cover. I found these costs acceptable. The staff were very helpful at all times and I strongly recommend them.

Mel came to my house and solved the problem I had with my printer which was under my contract agreement. Previously, George, Twyi and and Alinda had solved a number of problems I had experienced with my laptop including unwelcome messages, viruses and connection issues during the past 2 years. As a silver surfer with limited technical knowledge, it has been reassuring to know there is always a friendly, helpful and professional team with the patience and understanding to be available in a crisis. I would recommend Mel and his team to provide technical support for computers and printers.

My PC failed on start up. A message appeared saying there was a problem concerning BIOS. The message was in connection with American Megatrends. I contacted MELS, who immediately sorted the problem

Contacted Mel by phone when several messages appeared on my computer. He understood the problem and assured me that I had done the safest thing by not using the email address and telephone number shown on screen. He quickly sorted the problem and kept me up to date with what he was doing remotely on my computer. So easy and safe and I didn't have to take the computer round to the shop.

I received a very professional-looking email concerning a transaction which certainly was not connected to me. The email stated that a payment had been made from a PayPal account in my name - which I do not have! Mels did a lot of checking for me, ran various routines, etc., and was a great relief to me! Well done, Mel's and keep up the good work!

For a few years I had been a customer of Grapevine Computers in Altrincham. The owner, Rick, has now retired and I was directed to Mel's Computer Care in Sale Moor. Since then I have called upon the technical expertise of the staff (in my case Towie and George) at Mel's and have also purchased from them a new iPad for my wife. The iPad was brought to my home and my wife received a clear tutorial (included in the price) from Elena. I have now taken out a service contract for the next 12 months. Absolutely first class personal service at every stage. Even a phone call from Mel to make sure everything was running smoothly.

It’s always warming to use a local supplier, especially when big companies leave you on the phone for 40 minutes with a recorded message saying ‘your call is important to us’... So, going local bypasses that type of corporate thing and you get a professional, hands on service. Competitive price and with a polite expertise. Very positive experience.

I retired from work last year and needed a laptop to replace my work HP Laptop. I originally searched the internet EBAY etc and had passed Mels Computer care whilst driving to work. I looked at the reviews from customers and decided to call in and speak to them. I was dealt with quickly and professionally to see what level of Laptop I would need, from this conversion Mel recommended a 15" HP Laptop and he loaded the necessary software to meet my needs and they would ring me when my computer was ready to collect. I got a phone call a couple of days later and I called in to pick up the Laptop, Mel went through how to operate the Computer and left very happy. Last week after a Microsoft update I could no longer open Libre office word or spreadsheets. I rang Mel on Monday morning and told him what had happened , he accessed my computer remotely ( with my permission ) and reloaded the 2026 version of the Libre Office software and checked everything was working okay which is was. This took about 10minutes and there was no charge even though I bought the computer 14months ago. The after sales was fantastic and I now have access to my spreadsheets. I would strongly recommend Mels Computer Care to anyone needing a computer, so good to see after sales service as a priority and not an AI bot

My new iPad came with full data transfer, saving me an enormous amount of time and stress. I would recommend Mel's Computer Care as they have helped me out in the past with Computer issues and advice. All round nice guys and gals.

We pay a monthly fee and Mel's take care of our computers and internet access. They have been very patient with our technological ignorance and have always been prompt and efficient in their service. If only every company were as helpful!
