I applied for a home charger as soon as I had ordered my car. I replied to the survey emails which followed but then everything went quiet. When I had a date of delivery for my car I rang up Octopus and it seemed my application may have been missed but this was readily rectified by a £50 credit to my account and everything from that point was dealt with as speedily as possible. The gentleman who installed the charger could not have done more for me. He discussed with me where best to site the charger because there were a few options. He was so pleasant and helpful and took his time to explain everything in full. Octopus had sent me instructions on how to connect everything to my phone which I was a bit worried about but he sorted it all out for me and all I had to do was plug in. Despite the little mix up at the beginning I would definitely recommend Octopus …they certainly redeemed themselves.

We had an excellent service from Octopus overall. My only negative and im being harsh really as it wasnt overly an issue for us but it could be for others, was that there was no indication as to when the installation would be likely to take place so we ended up waiting a while for our appointment to be booked in. I had indicated our EV was being delivered on 1st May, not knowing what that data was to be used for initially. Only after I had completed payment was I informed that they were very busy and were prioritising people who already owned an EV. We ended up getting our installation completed on 1st June, so this could have cause an issue had our EV delivery not been delayed. The process otherwise was very straight forward, we ordered a HyperVolt 3 Pro and was installed by Sarah who was very friendly and helpful, explained everything clearly and did a demo for us post installation. Very happy with the service provided and would recommend Octopus for this service in future.

I had a fitter called Wes, what a nice guy very helpful explain everything he was going to do. He did everything he said and left the place clean and tidy, then explain all the instructions on how to use the charger. I now feel comfortable about using the charger. Appalling service
30/1/26 ordered a battery installation and paid the deposit. 6/2/26 received a request to pay an "overdue deposit". 13/2/26 received a further request to pay the "overdue deposit immediately". I replied advising that I had already paid, but received no reply or acknowledgement. 30/3/26 emailed the contact I had been given to ask when the battery would be installed and was told they were no longer dealing with my order and provided another contact. 2/4/26 received a reply from the second contact apologising for the delay and advising that nothing had been progressed on my order since I paid the deposit. They said they would chase this up. 21/4/26, having received no update, I submitted a complaint to the company but received no response. 29/4/26 sent a further email to Greg asking for a reply to my previous email. 30/4/26 received a reply stating that they would contact me within a week. 18/5/26 sent another email advising that I was still awaiting a response. 22/5/26 received a reply stating that they would chase it up. 2/6/26 and I am still waiting. I could not provide a completion date on this form as the installation has not commenced, so I used the order date instead.

This is just a short review. I would like to say the whole process of enquiry to install of our 1st home charger was overall excellent. The only downside was the timescale to get an actual install date, ours was 5 weeks after we purchased our car. On the positive side our installer (Verek), was excellent, he was very professional and had a great work ethic. He was very helpful with all our questions and we were both very happy with the completed installation.

Octopus were efficient, friendly and informative throughout the process. There was quite a wait between order and installation (6wks) and I was on the ‘priority list’ as I had already purchased my car. I was surprised that I was expected to remove floorboards myself before installation, so be prepared if your fuse box is in a slightly inaccessible position. If you can’t do it yourself, you will have to get someone in. The engineer who installed the unit , Byron, contacted me the day before; estimating his arrival time. He was early, very helpful, discussed positioning. Installed it very quickly; tidied and cleaned up after himself and checked the charger was working and gave a demonstration ant told me how to download the app etc . Very happy with my purchase.

Octopus Energy Home Charger Install The agent, I think his name was Brad done an amazing job. He was polite, helpful, and friendly. On meeting him, I explained what I expected and showed him the route I wished the cables to take, and on his look around, he said no problem I had, over the previous weeks, prepared for this install and done my best by moving all the garden furniture, plant holders, etc., and cleared all the areas that I thought the installer would need access to. He then got to work and just got on with it. At all times, he explained what he was doing and kept me up to date. As work progressed, I was thankful that I had chosen Octopus Energy as the installer, who was very knowledgeable about what he was doing, and it's a credit to him. He worked hard and kept all the work neat, and although I didn't watch everything he did, he kept me up to date. I was very impressed with his work; his cable work by attaching it to the lower level was absolutely spot on. Its almost invisible and I cannot fault it. Overall, I can't thank him enough, and I can only hope that management, on behalf of my wife and me, pass on my thanks to him. He did a first-class job. I am 100% happy with the Octopus installer. I would recommend Octopus Energy for any future EV Wall Chargers

The overall experience was good. My experience was first class and thats all thanks to the guys who installed our metre. Jim (apologies if thats the wrong name) went above and beyond to get the work done, he could have easily walked away as the job was a lot bigger than what was listed and a survey hadn’t been done. We live in an old house and it presented a challenge at every step, Jim was persistent and determined to get the job done though. He was friendly, hard working and super communicative throughout the entire process. He also required a colleague to help him out (Dale) who put a lot of hard graft into going under the floorboards to make sure the connection got sorted. Honestly the guys put in a solid days work and the outcome was beyond what I expected. Could not have been happier with the service provided and very lucky I got these two guys put on the job. Will definitely be staying with Octopus for a long time if this is any indication of the high lever service to expect!

I chose Octopus Energy because they had the EV charger that I had seen had excellent reviews. They had the best price with longer cable options and extended warranty option. I had quotes from two other companies and their prices for basic was really high. With Octopus the ordering is straight forward and I had was sent a online survey request . It was simple but I was unsure it was adequate, but a quick phone call to discuss what's included in the installation put my mind at rest. They supply a garage consumer box with a isolator and trips as well as SPD. The turnaround was incredibly fast, after survey I had an appointment and the charger was installed and working within days of ordering. The engineer Pedro was a true credit to Octopus—highly professional, thorough with safety checks, and meticulous with his workmanship. I highly appreciated that he took the time to discuss and always checked that I was happy with were everything was going including the cable route. He had the patience to give me time to chose a final charger position and time to wrap cable round to see best position for holster. I could see he took pride in his work everything was checked with levels before fixing , spacing of clips exact and cable straight. The installation was completed in a quality way. Glad I chose Octopus as they use there own electricians and know I have the support from a large company if I have a issue.

The Octopus EV charger installer Kieran arrived on time and greeted me personally. We discussed the best way to route the cabling from the meter to the charger. He opted for the most elegant run , even though it meant taking up two paving slabs and chiselling the cement base to enable the cable to run under the doorstep. He gave a demonstration of the charger controls and took away all the packaging and left the area tidy.

Started my journey in September 2025 when I paid my deposit after just moving in to my new home. Sales team were of course very helpful but then there was almost no communication, phone calls to several different personal representatives were rarely returned although promises of fast response were made! Eventually we had an installation date then the scaffolding didn’t arrive on time and several calls were not returned until 2 days after by which time the scaffolding had arrived. Installation teams were very helpful and worked very hard, coming early and working late! I can’t fault the product, it works very well and the price of oil which was our original heating makes it all the more worthwhile!

The original Hypervolt charger was delivered and installed 18/08/25 which worked for a few months then stopped working in mid November. I notified Octopus who send an engineer to repair it, which was unfortunately unsuccessful and he didn’t have a spare charger with him. Consequently I waited a couple of weeks for a new charger to be installed. Due to the wait Octopus credited my Electroverse card as compensation. When the new charger was installed it has continued to work to this day.

EV Charger & Air Source Heat Pump

We had decided to get an EV to replace an ageing Toyota Hybrid but needed to get the charger first so we were ready for it. Our energy supplier, Octopus Energy, offered a couple of options for what we thought was a good price after reviewing what was available online. The engineer arrived at the appointed time and did the work very professionally, with only a very small time when power to the house was turned off. We chose the OHME Home Pro and have been very happy both with the charger and the overnight 6 hours of very low priced electricity from the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff we have opted for. A year on and we decided we could be even more green and change our ageing gas boiler for an air source heat pump. Octopus could not have done more to help us on the road. We had three engineers for four days to install everything and, even in January, were not too cold while the heating was off. The engineers were superb and now, 4 months on, we are contemplating getting rid of gas altogether (we still have a gas range cooker and a gas fire) and getting Octopus to take out our gas meter to be even more green. Octopus really have great customer service and can't be faulted on anything you ask them for. This review may sound OTT but that's our experience of them.

The engineer was excellent and nothing was a drama. Everything was completed to a very high standard. The earthing rod was completely hidden. Everything was set up and explained to me by the engineer. I was a bit of an EV sceptic, but my hybrid is brilliant and with home charging is saving me a fortune in fuel. It turned out to be a good time to make the move. As a result of this I now have batteries installed by Octopus and this has dramatically changed our energy usage.

Octopus installed EV charger, advising that they would arrive 08.30-09.00 and take 3-4 hours. They asked us to install Octopus app ahead of their arrival. Installation of app requires login which we didn't have as our energy is from different supplier. Rang the nominated Tech Support person who didn't answer call or respond to voice message. After 07.30 on day of installation received message saying that engineer had to complete previous day's work and would arrive around 11.00 - no apology or asking if that's ok. Why didn't he message previous day? Had to cancel own arrangements for that afternoon. At 11.00 another message saying ETA 11.45. Engineer had to contact colleague as he didn't know how to resolve app issue. Took nearly 4 hours to install charger. Set charger to install firmware, which Octopus say "takes 15 minutes, so make yourself a cup of tea". Engineer left site to pick up equipment for following week's job, saying it's 10 minutes down the road. Arrived back 55 minute later, to find firmware still not updated. Didn't know how to resolve this so eventually left saying "hopefully it will be okay by tomorrow" Have made follow up calls to Tech Support, none of which have been answered and voice messages not responded to.

Octopus spent a week installing a 8.5kw Daikin Air Source Heat Pump, The work included removing the gas boiler and pipe work, decommissioning the gas meter, upgrading 90% of our radiators, upgrading our hot water cylinder (2x the original capacity), removing two cold water tanks from the loft space and converting our hot water supply to mains pressure. All this took just a week. All as per survey, all on-time and to cost. Installation notes. The Daikin heat pump sits to the northwest facing side of our house with plenty of breathing space. The feed and return pipework, plus the mains supply to the heat pump is routed via our loft space, where it replaces the original feed and return from the original gas boiler. One important note is that we have 15mm pipework upstairs and microbore pipework downstairs. ALL works well. Thank you Octopus.
