Contacted Plumbbob about a leaky toilet.We had used them before so knew that they provide an excellent service. The leak was investigated and we discussed options and the problem was sorted quickly and within the budget Would definitely use them again

A lovely young man came and changed my tap. It has been dripping for weeks. I am really happy with how efficent,clean and tidy he was. Would highly recommend Plumbbob.

John and his apprentice serviced an ancient boiler and checked other gas appliances for safety. Everything's working the day after, so that's fine, but I particularly appreciated the way he was happy to talk me (as well as the cool but hardworking apprentice) through what he was doing and how to look after things, and the options for repair and replacement when the boiler inevitably conks out. There was no hard sell, just a discussion of which spares may still be available and the pros and cons of various possible replacement systems. He spent time on this that he didn't have to, and the two of them also made sure everything was clean afterwards.

I've been using Plumbbob for over 10 years because they offer brilliant service. They responded quickly to my email about the broken mixer tap, sent a photo of the suggested replacement with a price for the job. We then agreed on an appointment within a 3 hour window. The engineers arrived within the time window, they were efficient, friendly and did the job perfectly. There was no mess to clear up. They said the tap is guaranteed for a year and to get in touch should I have any problems. The job cost £200, which I consider a fair and reasonable price for such good service.

We needed a gas fire to be moved to release a trapped rook that had fallen down our chimney. Although it was late Friday afternoon, Plumbbob responded immediately, arriving within 30 minutes, and the bird was safely released. That work done, they further impressed me by checking our gas system, not just at the refitted gas fire but at the gas meter as well. I felt the service provided was both prompt and thorough.

This was the second time we have used Plumbbob for plumbing work. Both times there was easy and clear communication before the work. The jobs were completed on time, neatly and with no bother. Will definitely use them again.

I suddenly had no hot water, nor heating. Plumbbob came quickly and checked boiler, thermostat. One item in the boiler needed replacing. Jon is so knowledgeable, always ready to explain things, and very friendly. And Lesley is equally efficient in setting things up, explaining things. I am so impressed with the expertise at Plumbbob and the human side of their business in caring for the customer and trying to resolve the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible. I cannot recommend Plumbbob highly enough.

Marco from Plumbob arrived on time - and made sure I was happy with the shower before he installed it. He completed the job well within the estimated time & left everything clean & tidy. He was very polite & able to answer any questions I had.

Another prompt and efficient response to an emergency call about a gas boiler malfunction. I have used Plumbbob on several occasions while living in Oxford and they have always delivered the same excellent service. The admin backup has improved recently too. Hope they keep up the same high standards.

I cannot recommend Plumbbob highly enough. We had an unpleasant odour in our bathroom and simply could not find the source. So I called Plumbbob for the first time on the strength of these reviews. Marco came the same day and found and fixed the problem in a very short time. Coincidentally our boiler broke down (again!) while Marco was on site. Jon came out the same day to look at it, and he and Preston installed a new boiler the following morning, just in time for our Oxford Art Weeks open house for ten days! Amazing service. Courteous, efficient, very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and good value. Plumbbob are now our permanent plumbing service provider. Look no further - you have found the best there is in this area!

Not used Plumbbob before. We had a malfunctioning burner on a gas hob. They turned up the day after we reported it and fixed it very quickly. Not a big job for them but they had the tools/experience that I lacked. Given it was a quick fix they only charged half the standard hourly rate. I'll use again certainly.

I'm new to Plumbbob but couldn't be more impressed by their prompt and efficient service. Their polite and courteous reception staff were most helpful throughout. Marco arrived on schedule and was most thorough and professional in way in which he rectified the problem. Thank you Plumbbob for your excellent all round service.

Marco, who initially installed my combi-boiler, has carried out its annual service. He was prompt, efficient, polite, and gave helpful explanations to a couple of my questions. And left no mess. This was done to agreed budget. Communication with this company has always been quick and helpful.

Marco called to replace broken brackets and also carried out the annual service he was excellent, knowledgeable and very friendly. Everything you would expect from a 5 star company, consistent with other reviews here. I asked 2 other companies to quote for the work. Plumbbob's approach stood out on 3 counts. First, they noticed the boiler was too small to support the number of radiators in the house, so they installed a larger one. Neither of the other companies picked up on that. Second, I wanted to keep my airing cupboard; Plumbbob were prepared to accept that + work with it. The others simply said it wasn't possible/that this type of heating system was outdated. Third, my original plan was extremely costly; Plumbbob looked at it & suggested modifications, which I accepted. The result has been a much warmer house at a fraction of the cost I envisaged. Obviously, the work is guaranteed, but beyond that I shall have recourse to a first-rate company on which I can depend for both routine maintenance + emergencies. This frees me from reliance on homeware companies who claim to provide a similar wraparound service but, in my experience, are expensive & all too often fail to deliver.

Plumbbob took out our old, traditional system and installed a new combi boiler. From start to finish, the whole organisation was very professional: e-mails were answered immediately; Jon was patient, thoughtful, and expert in assessing our needs; we got an installation date quickly; the team showed up as scheduled, worked quickly and efficiently, and completed the job on time; the new system works perfectly. Very satisfied.

I would like to make an addition to the many positive reviews of Plumbob. Two weeks ago Jon and Preston installed a new boiler for us. They were efficient and professional in every aspect of their work and gave us lots of friendly and informative advice. When a manufacturing fault was discovered in the hot water supply system, they returned immediately when contacted and advised us on how to get it fixed. We are very happy now with the the new boiler. What is even more impressive is that Jon actually repaired our previous elderly boiler when it failed just before last Christmas. He sorted it out in a couple of hours (after another company had spent 2 days trying...and failing...to make it function). The old boiler continued to work for 10 months thereafter. Jon is an engineer of great experience and skill. I would recommend Plumbob to anyone.

Plumbbob has done a number of jobs for us, the major job was installing a replacement boiler. They did a fantastic job for us and would highly recommend Marco, Lesley and the team.

I have rung Jon several times in the past in an emergency situation and he has always come out within a couple of hours. This time he suggested changing the boiler completely which meant taking out 2 water tanks and pumps and installing a new system. The team worked quickly and well and I'm very happy with the new system and water pressure. I would highly recommend Plumbbob and will continue to use them in the future although I hope the Christmas and Easter emergencies will stop now !!

boiler service, capably done, no problems

We have used Jon and the team at Plumbob for a boiler replacement, servicing and, most recently to repair a radiator. They are extremely professional, friendly and reliable and their fees are very competitive. I cannot recommend them highly enough for the quality of their work.

They answered Emails on the same day. They came quickly and when they said they would, and provided an estimate (for a new boiler) within the day. The boiler was fitted within four days. The fitter came on time and worked hard all day checking always that the appearance was how I wanted it and replaced extra parts of the system as needed. They adapted the new boiler to work on the fitted programmer so that I would find it easy to work. They explained carefully the boiler and left full paper-work . They cleared up afterwards and left the place tidier than it was when they arrived. I cannot think how they could have improved.

Jon replaced my boiler a few years ago and more recently replaced my kitchen tap, Jon remains one of the most courteous and helpful tradesperson I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with, absolutely amazing service, reliable, tidy and reasonably priced and would and will recommend to anyone.
