About
Established in 2008, Propergeeks is based entirely on the Wirral but we cover all CH postcodes. We offer a mobile service covering Wirral and Ellesmere Port and a shop-based service from our Leasowe Road store in Wallasey Village. We also offer a 'Remote Support Desk' facility which, in many cases, can resolve common software issues without the need for us to have any physical contact with customers or their devices, (internet service required).
We have over 30 years experience in repairing computers and laptops and we only employ skilled staff who are trained and competent to handle any computer problem, skillfully and quickly. We offer free advice if you need it, a free collection and delivery service if you need that and we never charge a call-out fee. Our reputation is your guarantee that you'll be happy with what we do, happy with the price we charge and happy to recommend us to your friends and family.

Sam Powell at ProperGeeks listened and asked relevant questions about my fault with my laptop. He then gave a rough estimate of the type of repair it would need to resolve the fault I had somehow inherited, and a timescale for the work to be done and an approximate cost. He contacted me as required, then made a final telephone call to tell me it was ready for collection. I went in, and Sam was there to explain what he'd done and booted up my laptop to show it was working. A very professional company, and reassuringly expensive. I knew I was getting a good well-repaired laptop in return.

My oldish-Windows10 PC stopped working and I thought it was ready for replacement. My regular IT guy was no longer available so I had to look for a new advisor. There's not much choice around Wallasey but having read the reviews I settled on Propergeeks without much confidence. But I became more optimistic when I visited the shop. The staff are very nice, pleasant and professional, and the service was excellent and this was over the Christmas period. I was advised of the estimated time to be taken and an anticipated cost (which was very reasonable). I received a telephone call advising completion at exactly the promised time. I have a PC now as good as new and I am fully confident that if anything else goes wrong Propergeeks will quickly sort out the problem.

Arising out of a faulty touch-screen laptop, Nathan expertly guided us through a variety of possible church computer upgrades. We eventually emerged with two computer systems that were fit-for-purpose and cost efficient:- 1. Proper Geeks provided a reconditioned desktop and screen to power a church overhead projector and music system 2. Proper Geeks saved the previous faulty laptop by removing the screen and linking it up permanently to a TV Screen for showing YouTube videos in a cafe format. Throughout, they were knowledgeable, professional and helpful and we were very satisfied with the outcome. Highly recommended!

They spent a long time finding the problem with the connection of my printer and computer that I could not have done myself. They were patient and helpful, explaining what was happening as they completed the work. This was all done remotely and I cannot fault them. This is not the first time I have used Propergeeks and have always found them polite and helpful to a lady-of-a-certain-age when in need of a bit of technical help.

I took my laptop to the shop to solve a problem. The guys were friendly and helpful - taking their time to explain what they would do. They tested the laptop but didn't seem to encounter the same problem I did - so we discussed what options I had. I was astonished that they didn't want paying - their argument was they'd not solved a problem - my point was that I'd used their time and expected to pay!! No matter - when I got my laptop home my problem has mysteriously been cured - what service! Seriously - I've used them several times before and have always found them friendly, helpful and efficient. I can't recommend them enough.

I had a problem where Bitdefender was denying access to Microsoft Edge, I couldn't sort it out myself. I explained the situation to Propergeeks they took control, set a time and kept to it. They kept me informed whilst they sorted the problem out and were very helpful and always polite.

I had two medium spec computers, which had both become slow and problematical, upgraded with SSDs and BIT Defender Total Security installed. The initial evaluation was free and the job quotes were clear and at reasonable cost. Communication with Proper Geeks is good and the computers returned fairly rapidly with jobs completed and fully checked. Both computers are now returned to the reasonably high spec performance I am used to and I am very pleased with the upgrades.

Downloading a driver from less than safe site tripped my BitLocker and froze up my laptop with the feared blue screen. I dropped into propergeeks with a plea for help. In 48 hours they had restored the kit to pre-download status and full operation without losing anything except the spurious driver. This may be bread and butter to them but they saved my bacon on good time. Cost less than £80. Result. Great small business and I would recommend them to anyone.

My computer was running extremely slow and I had procrastinated for many months about handing my computer over, containing sensitive personal data, to someone/a business I did not know. From the moment I walked through the door of the shop I felt at ease. I felt that Chris (and team) really listened to me and were sympathetic to my concerns and reassured me in relation to the security of my data. They gave me a timescale of when they would contact me to discuss their findings and delivered this twenty four hours before the timescale had expired. When Chris called he was clear in concise on what my options were and the costings of each. Each question I asked was addressed thoroughly. Thank you so much guys. My own IT knowledge is quite basic, so I required professional help and advice in upgrading my current DeskTop PC from windows 7 to 10. The geeks were polite, positive and helpful from the start. Proper Geeks were of great service converting all my old emails from my old 13 years South African PC onto my new lap top. He was punctual and reliable, as well as being very patient in showing how to navigate the new system. As I am nearly 60 and not very computer literate, he showed a great deal of patience, for which I greatly appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommended Proper Geeks for any computer requirements, and especially if you are of an older generation.
