I hired Roy to build bookcases and put shelves up in three rooms, and to build a proper cupboard/storage space under the stairs. Given that I simply could not visualise what would or would not work, I asked him to give free rein to his imagination, within an agreed budget. Roy was absolutely fantastic. He created beautiful bookcases, and sorted out my under-the-stairs space, giving me some useful tips in the process. All with minimum fuss, within budget and on time. Roy was the best tradesman that we had on a large renovation project. As others have said he has great attention to detail and quality of finish which I appreciated. He is very hard working and works solidly without phone calls and breaks unlike some tradespeople. He is a good problem solver and I liked being able to discuss and come up with ideas. If he is unsure of something or has a better idea he will ask rather than just carry on which is refreshing. Overall highly recommended.

Roy Hogg is the best carpenter we've ever employed. He is efficient, works to a high standard, is great at solving problems and is very hard-working. He is also considerate and easy to get along with. He is not cheap but he is worth it.

Roy is a meticulous and highly skilled craftsman, who prepares carefully for each job and executes it with precision. He is a pleasure to have in the home, always careful and considerate. I would use him again and again, if ever I needed something done.

Roy has recently carried out repairs to a number of our timber windows that were letting in rainwater and replaced a pole propping up a corner of roofing. He clearly enjoys his job, carrying out work, some of which others have shied away from, with enthusiasm and care, efficiently, quickly, and at a reasonable cost. We asked Roy to completely redo one room of our house with paneling and book cases. He did an absolutely brilliant job achieving exactly what we wanted. It included making a trellised cover for the radiator and redoing the entrance door of the room as well as a the doors of an in built cupboard. Roy started on exactly the date he said he would and continued even during a lengthy absence on our part. He is very skilled, professional, reliable and entirely trustworthy. The best thing about him is that he seems to love what he does and gets real pride and satisfaction out of doing a great job. The materials he uses are very good - he doesn't do things on the cheap - and thus the results are top rate. We really can't praise him enough and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone considering using his services.

Roy just made a simple bookcase for me this time and it is perfect. He is an excellent craftsman. He is a delight to have around, arrives when he says he will and is 100% reliable. He has done other bigger jobs for me over the years and is thoroughly professional and always leaves the place clean and tidy. Previously he has installed a fiddly kitchen doing all the tiling, and created wooden cupboards and laid a wood flooring in a large living area adjoining the kitchen. I highly recommend him.

Roy has carried out two repair jobs for me over the past few months to a very high standard. Neither has been straightforward, but from initial visit through to completion he has been nothing less than a pleasure to work with. I know that I can trust him to simply get on with things and that he will ask about anything where the answer isn't obvious. Roy has completed various jobs at our house from rehanging doors to creating a new wooden step as well as building shelves, desk and a built-in wardrobe. Nothing we have asked him to do has been too much trouble and he always comes up with great suggestions to ensure we get exactly what we were hoping for. He has done a fantastic job and we are so pleased with the end results. He is always punctual and extremely tidy in his work, but more than this he is a genuinely nice guy to have around. We can not recommend him highly enough.

Roy built two bookcases to fit into alcoves, and two cupboards to go around a boiler and a fusebox - not the easiest of jobs. Roy was extremely helpful with suggestions on design and practicality, and his workmanship is meticulous and detailed. He is a pleasure to have working in the house, and it is very relaxing to know the job is in good hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Roy and his work.

Roy was a pleasure to have around, well maybe not the 07:30 start time, but he hit the ground running every morning and got through an amazing amount of work in the eight days he was with us. He adapted and fitted numerous IKEA cupboards into awkward spaces, revamped a shabby door, fixed weatherboards and draughty gap above a bookcase, as well as make bespoke pannelling for a toilet, as well as other smaller jobs along the way. There was nothing we threw at him that he couldn't do and he was cheerful and 'can-do' throughout, it's clear he loves his work and is sound.
