Ed was excellent to deal with throughout our project. He was always very responsive to calls and emails and his quality of work appears to be very good. Reliable and I would certainly use again.

I recently had a complete electrical installation in my house and I was worried about its safety as I found a number of faults left by the electrician/builder who did this work. I contacted Ed Rich to ask him to test the electrics. He was very sympathetic, said he would do it, asked for a photograph of my consumer unit and gave me a price based on this. He confirmed the date, arrived on time, set up his work station and worked quietly and efficiently testing the electrical system. When he was finished testing he showed me his report, explained the readings on it and explained that he had found a significant fault which needed to be rectified as it could could cause a fire. He said some live cables were lying loose under the floorboards. He advised me to tell my original electrician what he found and offer him the opportunity to rectify it. He handled this extremely diplomatically. The original electrician returned to test and rectify the work and he found but serious and potentially two faults, which he repaired. I phoned Ed in the presence of the original electrician to check the readings with him and he assured me the installation was now safe. He tidied up and left the house as he had found it. He is an experienced and well trained electrician, he was entirely open with me, charged me a reasonable price, and I felt I could trust him entirely. I will always engage him in the future and I will recommend him to family and friends.

Since my husband died I have found it difficult to manage things like changing lightbulbs, and when the light in the bathroom went out, I was unable to climb up to change the bulb. Fortunately I was able to turn to Ed as he has done work for us several times in the past, and I knew I could rely on him. He dropped by on his way home that evening and identified the problem, which was more than a burned out bulb. He suggested how we might get round the problem, and we arranged a time for the next week, but he then contacted me to say he could do the work today if it was convenient. Ed has done major work for us in the past but he was just as willing to undertake this small job, and that means a lot. I feel confident that he will do a good job in any situation, and his kindness makes him a special trader. I recommend him without any hesitation.

We were looking for an electrician to install a pendant light over our dining table and have it work from the wall switch, which previously controlled a set of LED down-lights. We asked that the down-lights be transferred to another circuit so that they remained functional. Ed's work was excellent and we are very happy with the result. It was very easy to discuss the job with him, and he took the time to understand what we wanted. He quoted an amount that we thought was very reasonable for the work and he had availability within a few days. On the day of the work, he and his apprentice arrived on time and the whole thing was done in under 90 mins, including clean-up afterwards. No hidden costs or charges either! Very happy with this result and impressed with Ed's work. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an electrician in the west London area.

I needed an electrician in late January 2023 and did some research on the Trusted Traders site and other similar sites. I chose to contact Rich Electrical because their reviews were excellent and they were local to me. Since then Ed Rich has completed three jobs for me, all to replace and upgrade the lights in my kitchen and utility rooms. The jobs were all completed to my full satisfaction. Ed is personable, friendly and helpful, he turns up on time and is happy to explain what he is doing. For the last job he even went above and beyond the call of duty by researching the internet on my behalf to find an adaptor plate big enough for my light! I have no hesitation in highly recommending Ed - he is a consummate professional.

Ed is a first class electrician and a first class professional. I commissioned Ed to carry out a number of electrical jobs in my mother's property, including: installing a new electric shower, replacing an external light and installing a number of new and additional plug sockets, throughout the house. My mother and the rest of my family had not used a tradesperson for a very long time and so I needed someone who would put them at their ease and who could be completely trusted, in their home. This job was to install double electrical sockets in my elderly mother's Ruislip home. I found Ed through word of mouth and recommendation. The job of locating a potential source to run the cable from was potentially awkward but Ed identified a neat under the floorboard solution. He also made recommendations about electrical safety. He cleared up nicely and it was a fair price.

Ed gave us a comprehensive quote for the work, started and finished on time, and completed the work for his quoted price. He was helpful in recommending and getting the parts we needed, and was happy to amend the work to suit our requirements. Ed was diligent and a pleasure to have around our home. Ed was great can't recommend him enough. Very friendly over the phone when getting details for initial quote. However before the arranged date for site visit I did ask for additional work which Ed was quick to respond to. On the day Ed worked quick, efficiently, explained things I had questions on and performed some wizardry that allowed me to have bathroom mirror that requires mains supply not have any external wiring - even though it was a tiled wall backed onto plasterboard that was dabbed onto concrete. Also took the time to clear up properly after so the flat was left in a good state.

Ed has done work for us more than once. Several have been major projects but today it was a small job, although important to us. He mended our landing light and replaced the switch. Everything was done neatly, no fuss and no mess, and he gave us good advice about security. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Contacted Ed regarding power tripping in our new house. He was with us within the hour and spent a good 3 hrs checking the house over. Ed found the faulty components and replaced them on the spot. Ed fitted new security lights for us at the front and back of the house at the beginning of this year (2020). He is very professional and reliable, and always goes the extra mile. I also used him a couple of years ago to check and replace a buzzing light switch, and again Ed was very helpful. No hesitation recommending him.

We asked Ed to Test & Inspect the old wiring of the c1910 terrace we have lived in for 40 years. We picked him based on his excellent Which reviews. He gave us the unsurprising news that the electrics were unsatisfactory and rewiring was recommended. He had a free week available 2 weeks later & we thought it best to bite the bullet and get the job done. Given the amount of furniture & stuff crammed into the house, we put everything in store and stayed nearby so Ed had an empty house to work on. From start to finish Ed was friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, reliable, patient, confidence inspiring and used his initiative. As the time approached for the work to start we started getting anxious. He kindly had a long phone chat with a more technically inclined relation about our worries over our old lath & plaster walls. Ed and his 2 assistants, Luke & Harry, completed the rewire (apart from the more recently done small kitchen) over 5 days. In addition to the rewiring with new sockets, switches, we had a new bathroom extractor fan, security lights front & back, fire alarms, heat/steam alarm in kitchen, new LED strip lights in the kitchen, a new fuse box placed in a more accessible cupboard. Ed contrived to do it all so skillfully with minimal damage to the old walls. Consequently we had no replastering to be done and Luke was able to do the filling in. We feel safe in the house now and delighted Ed handled the job so brilliantly. 100% recommended.

We had Ed fit circuits for two ovens and an induction hob and then more recently, now our new kitchen is in, he came round to wire in the hob and ovens and also replaced the faces on four sockets and fixed/replaced a faulty socket. He did a great job. Throughout, Ed was really good at explaining to us the different options for routing the cables and very friendly. All the work was completed at the price originally quoted, and it was clear that Ed takes safety very seriously. He kindly always let us know when he was about to turn fuses off etc. (extremely helpful to know if the wi-fi is about to go out when you are working from home!). We won't hesitate to get in touch with Ed again next time we need an electrician.

We engaged Ed/Rich Electrical to perform electrical work for seven rooms in our house which included the rewiring of the light circuits, switching out and installation of new power points, new light switches and fittings, installation of external lights and smoke detectors and the moving of circuits on to a new consumer mains unit. We were doing other building work at the time and it was not possible for all the electrical work to be attempted in one session. Ed was more than accommodating in this respect and we scheduled at least three visits at relatively short notice. Ed was always punctual and polite. I am more than happy to recommend Ed.

Over the course of this summer, Ed has carried out the following jobs for us : • Install of new Consumer Unit. • Fitting of 3 PIR Lights. • Tidy up of electrical connections in garage. • Installation of downlights and new pendant light in kitchen. • Installation of new sockets in two bedrooms. • Fitting of 2 new ceiling and 1 wall light. This work was carried out over 3 visits and in parallel with other building works and the fitting if a new burglar alarm. We weren’t the easiest of customers as we changed our minds on a few things after he had started the job. We originally asked him to carry out the first two jobs listed above but the list grew once we realised how good he was. Within days of completing the work, we received the certification we required. Rich Electrical Ltd was hired to rewire the electrics in my old Victorian house. He was very knowledgeable, provided good advice and was able to complete the job within 2 days (including fitting of a new fuse box). Very friendly, efficient and well priced service and also all work was guaranteed (which is important!). I would have no problems in recommending Rich Electrical Ltd to friends and family.

Ed replaced my fuse box, fitted new plug sockets and changed my security lights. The work was always done on the agreed time & budget unless another issue had arisen whilst carrying out the work which he would explain very clearly. The thing that stood out for me was his very friendly mannerisms & the way he would explain what was needed to be done. If a problem arose after the work was carried out he would always try to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

I wanted to update my consumer unit - or "fusebox" or "circuit breaker box" as you might call it. I had several estimates, mainly from Trusted Traders electricians. Several made heavy weather of the job, claiming that I'd have to pay them to test the entire electrical installation first, and then they might decide that the job couldn't be done. Ed Rich was a delight to deal with. He produced a professional estimate very quickly, the price was competitive and there were no hidden extras. On the day of installation he and his colleague were very tidy and considerate, there was no mess and he made sure that when we had to disconnect from the power supply it was at a time which suited us. I really couldn't ask for more, and I'd use Rich Electrical again without hesitation.

Can only speak highly of Ed....I wasn’t sure the light/fan could be fixed but after examining the fitting he explained what had to be done and after going to obtain a part in a short time he had it working. What started off as a small job, replacing a hall light and outdoor security light, turned into a more complicated one due to historic rewiring issues. Throughout all Ed was very patient, informed us at all stages of what work needed to be done and completed the task in a very efficient manner, even fixing some floor boards. Ed has done a number of little things around the house for us, but recently he replaced our out-dated fuse board. I would highly recommend Ed Rich after the fantastic work he provided for our project. Ed personally oversaw the complete overhaul of the electrical system in our dated 1960’s town-house as part of a complex refurbishment project during 2017 which included ‘gutting’, re-planning and modernisation of the whole interior. Ed coordinated with client, main contractor, other subcontractors and architect in a professional manner. As an architect, I was extremely impressed at Ed’s attention to detail, continuous helpful advice which enabled us to achieve the design we intended despite the many obstacles we faced, and of course Ed’s care in reading through our project drawings. Ed truly had a ‘can-do’ attitude despite the manifold design challenges we had! The work Ed carried out for our project was: >1st fix stage (perseverance), chasing for cabling and back-boxes >New electrical system, distribution board, electrical outlets >New lighting system, some awesome LED strip lights, studio style track-lights (most on dimmers), spotlights >Interlinked wired fire alarms >Wiring and outlets for phone, network, television and cable >Power and fan control wiring for a whole-house mechanical ventilation system >Electrical wiring for kitchen appliances, boiler >Neat & careful workmanship setting out and installation. Outlets, switches & lights were all evenly spaced and orthogonal. Where track lights and LED profiles had to be cut to length on site, this was done with the utmost precision

Ed was very punctual in coming to assess the work required and providing the quotation. Turned up on the date and time agreed. Speed and Quality of workmanship was very good. Left with all the items replaced to dispose and the kitchen was left in very clean condition. It was replacing a kitchen extractor fan. Can highly recommend him.

Ed has done work for me previously. The current job is relatively small but Ed responded quickly and professionally. I didn't have a solution in mind but he was able to advise on the best (cost effective) solution and to do it quickly. So Ed is a rare breed and a far cry from the more common and far too often encountered cowboy traders of today who lie to you upfront about their competence and then end up doing shoddy/dangerous works that rip you off and cause you grief and hassle to rectify.
