Jason and his assistant built an extension to our patio using Indian sandstone to match the existing paviours and repointed and cleaned the former. The work was carried out on time and to budget. The standard of workmanship is excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Roots Gardens Ltd.

We wanted to enhance the shape, and increase the size of, our wildlife pond and to replace the earlier lining with a combination of Butyl and Geo-textile. Jason brought large stones to almost surround the pond's deepest area and to make a pebbled area at one end in order to encourage wildlife. He then brought several marginal plants to be set around the ponds edges and other plants for oxygenation. There was a gap between the time he finished the pond itself until the required plants were delivered solely because the Covid epidemic deferred matters. Prices were agreed in advance and Jason delivered. He is a friendly and reliable person.

Jason arrived promptly on the day agreed. He and Andy did all the preparatory work in the most appalling wet weather. Despite this, they worked very hard and stayed cheerful and the preparation was very thorough. The resulting lawn looks great, several neighbours have made admiring comments. Jason kept to the estimate. Highly recommended.

The first project involved the planning of the landscaping and clearing of a large overgrown garden. Jason listened to the brief, formulated good ideas and agreed a time frame and cost. He and Lee worked hard throughout, taking minimal breaks and were thorough in their work. They communicated effectively with me and the work was competed to my full satisfaction on time and on cost. I was very pleased with the standard of work, their attitude to the work and to the client and so engaged them on a second project to begin soon after the first was completed.

After booking in some work, received an email cancelling with an hour’s notice. Unacceptable as time was taken off work to be available. Unfortunately, will find someone else to compete the job as now not sure of reliability.

We live in a semi-detached period house with an area of 50sqm2 to the rear of the property. Jason and his team did a great job of completely renovating our garden, which was a wreck - crooked walls and out of line and with the main house and garden office. Having quickly understood the issues in one short briefing, he produced an accurate quote and realistic timetable that he then delivered on time and on budget. The job required a great deal of ground levelling, building a new terrace, garden path around the office, installing lateral drains to meet building regulations and the necessary drainage and finally laying out a new lawn. At every stage the work was carefully measured, levelled and matched to the out-of-square plot. The result is a really pleasing and satisfying garden that is exactly what we had hoped for. We would highly recommend Roots Gardens not just for a garden renovation of this size but for larger and more complex projects. They were highly professional as well as friendly and totally trustworthy.
