Shoddy Workmanship and Appaling Customer Service!

We had a boiler serviced by this company and during the procedure, the engineer accidentally knocked the oil feed so the central heating would never have come on. After completing the work the engineer did NOT test to see if the heating was working, had he done so he would have realised his mistake and would have been quickly able to rectify the error. He failed to do that and left. When we came home to a cold house on a bitterly cold November day we tried to turn the heating on and it would not work. We immediately rang the company and left a message on their answerphone that we had no heating and could someone contact us urgently. We received no response and were left without hot water and heating from Friday until Monday when someone did turn up and quickly fixed the problem and was in and out in less than 5 minutes and told us what had happened. My husband has a heart condition, is a diabetic and is on the vulnerable list with all utilities but that was ignored by Simon Barker. We emailed AND posted a letter but were again ignored, we received no apology but just an invoice looking for immediate payment! Mistakes happen, we have no issue it was made in the first place but the system was never checked to see if it was working and that is unacceptable. They left two pensioners, one with serious health issues without heat and hot water for 3 days during a particularly cold period, shame on them. We would NOT recommend Simon Barker to our worst enemy!

The 2 man team were great, quick, tidy and polite. Super job (replace shower pump). Always removed boots in the house. Came in under estimate too! Also took away all waste and old parts. Would recommend them any time.

Nice new kitchen sink

After phoning various local plumbers and promises made but never delivered we phoned Simon Barker. An appointment was made to visit us. Bradley arrived on time and measured up and made us aware of issues no other company had. He told us he could source the sink and taps for us and then arrange fitting. True to his word this was done , quote agreed and sink fitted yesterday. Fitting was done efficiently and professionally, all rubbish removed and kitchen left clean. We will certainly use Simon Barker again. So relieved to find a reliable company.

Very pleased with our experience using Simon Barker Services for the plumbing work carried out in our cloakroom and kitchen. Great customer service from first contact, to the on site visit, receiving the quote and having the work carried out. The fitter who came on the date and time as arranged carried out the work without fuss, cleaned up and even took the rubbish away - thanks Hayden. I will definitely use this company again, highly recommended.

My old boiler broke down, and a call to Simon Barker Plumbing and Heating, prompted a quick response, and the workmen arrived exactly as promised, and carried the installation of a new boiler with efficiency and skill. The complete installation was carried out speedily and I am well pleased with the result. I recommend them.

My oil boiler locked out so had no heating or water. It happened suddenly with no warning. Pressed the override button which started it again, but it locked out again after a couple of hours. Repeated the process several times, but had the same problem. I called Simon Barker Services Ltd in the morning and the phone was answered very quickly. I explained the problem, and was reassured that they would get back to me as quickly as possible to let me know when an engineer would be able to come. I received a text message within 15 minutes to inform me that Simon would be with me that afternoon. Simon checked the boiler thoroughly and explained everything to me. It was difficult to diagnose an intermittent fault, so Simon adopted a process of elimination fitting a part that was most likely the culprit. He did explain that two other parts may also be causing the problem. Sadly the boiler locked out again after 6 hours. I phoned the following morning and Simon returned a short while later that day with the other parts. The boiler is now working fine. I was very impressed by the excellent and polite customer service, prompt action and the respect to my home. The failed parts were left with me to be examined by an engineer. They certainly were broken! I have no problem in recommending this family run company to others.

New Boiler

Had a new boiler fitted to replace my very old one. Jake and Callum arrived on time both days and were very pleasant. They made sure I could access hot water and heating whilst my boiler was out of commission. They did an excellent job, explained things and made sure everything was neat and tidy when they left. No hesitation in recommending them.
