SPS Timber Windows Limited

We used SPS to fit new double glazed french doors in our living room. From start to finish every aspect of their service was exceptional and we are delighted with the quality of work. The original Edwardian design was matched exactly. They have a long lead-in period as they are very busy but it was worth the wait. They are not the cheapest, but this is definitely the company I will use next time.

My daughter used SPS windows to replace all the sash windows in her Edwardian terrace. The windows are beautiful quality and the installers were polite, friendly, efficient and very tidy. Whilst these windows are not cheap, they were also not the most expensive quote we got. Strongly recommend!

We had the front windows, front door & garage door of our 1930's house replaced by SPS Timber Windows, including a large square bay. The new windows look just like the originals, with curved tops, but with modern double-glazing. The original stained glass in the door & hall were incorporated into the sealed glazing units, to maintain the authentic look. The fitters were reliable, tidy & hard-working. The carpenter who did the measuring-up beforehand did a very thorough job. We are very pleased with the quality & have had many positive comments from neighbours & visitors. The only downside was the length of time we had to wait from order to fitting (about five months), but on balance we would highly recommend this company, especially if you want to maintain the period look of your property.

Our house was built in 1927 and the front bay windows needed replacing. I had obtained quotes from two companies for PVC windows and then came across SPS. Their quotation procedure, together with the high quality of the specification of their windows, were most impressive. The price was roughly double that of PVC windows, but we decided that the quality of the product (appearance, longevity, energy efficiency) justified this extra cost. SPS replaced both bays at the front and four other casement windows on the first floor. Before construction, the windows were measured and photographed to ensure that the new items would, as far as possible, be clones of the original. The installation team of two were tremendous. The new windows fitted accurately and the small amounts of inevitable damage to the immediate areas of the interior and exterior wall surfaces were made good speedily and to a high quality. They also repainted the repaired areas. (You will have to know what the original colour was of course!) The team plentifully used dust sheets and plastic sheeting to minimize the effect of dust from the installation, and they cleared up and vacuumed at the end of each day. The windows look tremendous and we are very pleased with them. I have no hesitation in recommending SPS highly.

We used SPS to double glaze an existing sash bay window in our kitchen. They copied the original period mouldings of the windows and the surrounds perfectly. The workmen were efficient and professional and cleaned up at the end of each of the 2 days' work. We are extremely pleased SPS's window and the company's service generally.

SPS fitted a new 3-part bay sash window to our Victorian property. The experience was entirely stress-free from the initial meeting to the windows being completed. From keeping the dust to a minimum to ensuring the final decoration matched perfectly with the room they were fitting into. You may have a wait a long time to get them in but the wait is well worth it.

SPS replaced all the windows in our Edwardian house. They have matched them perfectly to the old style. From start to finish the whole experience has been professional and problem free. The installation was fast, clean and stress free. There were no hidden costs and they redecorated any small areas of damage post installation. We have had many words of praise from other professionals and neighbours. It has made such a difference this winter not to have cold draughts. to be fully recommended

SPS replaced all the windows in the front of our house including replicating ten Edwardian stained glass fanlights in double glazed units (something which several other reputable firms said could not be done). The end result is precisely what we wanted and the foundation for that was the care they took in understanding our needs and setting out a very precise specification of what they planned to deliver. The only material downside was that they had some scheduling problems which meant the whole job became somewhat protracted. However, this was offset by good communication (not normally a strength of the building-related trade) about the nature of the problems and by ensuring that we were open to the elements for the minimum time possible. Their installers were friendly, efficient and impressively hard-working. We have more windows to replace later this year and will be asking them to quote.

SPS replaced 6 windows in my house before Christmas. From initial visit to completion of the job the communication was clear, detailed and speedy. The quote was most comprehensive and carried out exactly. The men who did the work were excellent - everything was covered in dust sheets; they turned up daily on the dot; I felt i could trust them completely and gave them a key so that I could get on with my life; they were most tolerant of the dog; once the windows were fitted they were cleaned and the woodwork was filled and repainted; the small amount of colateral damage which was done to the walls surrounding the windows was removed using the original wall paint. At my request they also rerouted the phone and TV aerials while the windows were out. They worked hard, were very helpful, mobile phone calls were minimal and they were all very pleasant. They even played Nina Simone one day - marvellous. On the Thursday before Christmas the last and much the largest window (sliding doors for the patio) was to be fitted. The old one was removed, but on arrival the new one proved to be significantly too tall. it was taken back to the workshop; the large hole was boarded up overnight; the new window was cut down to size overnight and replacement glass was obtained in order that it was completed on the following morning and installed by the end of the next day Friday. I believe that one of the men had to delay his departure time for his Christmas holiday - he couldn't have been nicer about it. We all make mistakes - it's how they are resolved that counts and they couldn't have done a better job. The windows themselves are beautiful and i'm thrilled. Where appropriate they are exact copies of the original victorian sash windows.The original ones had had secondary glazing fitted but I can tell that the heat retention in the area near the windows is now a great deal better. I can also open and close them with ease for the first time. I'm soon going to measure up for the remainder of the windows to be replaced by them - I think that tells you everything

I agree with all the other reviewers. We used SPS Windows to replace 7 sash windows in an old Victorian property and to build and fit French doors. The quote was middle-of-the-range. Excellent workers, communicating well with us, left the property clean and tidy, and worked efficiently within the stated time frame. We had a problem with the new doors (after a week, they didn't open properly). When we told them, they came back immediately and fixed it; now 6 months later, we have had no further problems. Recommended.

SPS' design and installation of my new French windows was an entirely stress-free experience. They were friendly and attentive to my requests for particular features, meticulous in supplying drawings and written estimates; they kept to their predicted timetable and there were no hidden extra costs. The product is of high quality and the installation process was impressively well managed and rapid, including one or two followup visits to check on details. Dust was kept to a minimum and as promised the paintwork around the installation was fully restored. If all service providers were this good life would be a lot sweeter. Highly recommended.

SPS give extremely good customer service. They are efficient, responded swiftly to my queries and kept me updated on progress at every stage. As I was having windows repaired to a property that I let out (and is nearly 200 miles away from where I live) this consistent, clear communication was very reassuring. I would say that in terms of price, SPS are mid range, but in terms of quality they are at the very top of the class. Because of planning regulations I had to replace my windows like for like, so I didn't want to risk any problems by going with a low quality option, I also didn't want to have to get them redone again in a few years time. The results are great high quality windows that are guaranteed for 10 years and conform to all of the building / FENSA regulations. I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone, they are based in SW18 but it was no problem going to N1.

Used SPS about 2 years ago in the old flat [see previous review] and they did such a good job that we got them back to the new house to replace all the horrendous windows and doors that had been done by a previous builder. We got three quotes two for new windows, one for repair. SPS costs were in the middle. We had to wait quite a while as they were so busy, but a helpful team came and installed, they worked SO hard to get us done before the snow last year. In a time of bad workmanship seemingly being the norm, this is a refreshing change. Their doors and windows have changed the whole quality of the house. It give us great pleasure now to have no gaping gaps in the front door frame, no drafts, we can open and close the windows to air the house and we are secure. What a difference it makes. I saw one of SPS Timber Windows vans locally in Raynes Park and called them to discuss the installation of new bespoke, double glazed timber French doors for our house. We had already had 2 quotes from other suppliers, but SPS was by far the most competitive (not cheap still, but you certainly get what you pay for!). Now the installation is completed we are really happy we used SPS for our project, and even our builder, who normally works with another supplier, was really impressed. The whole process from initial site visit to delivery went really smoothly, and the people we dealt with were very professional. By using SPS I was able to design the doors exactly like I wanted them. Also, the doors are manufactured nearby (I even had a chance to take a glance in their workshop), so the lead time was much shorter than you would normally expect, and SPS made every effort to work to fit in within our building project. I also like the fact that we only had a little deposit to pay with the balance all paid post installation, once the client is 100% happy. A big thumbs up and I would not hesitate one second to recommend this company.

We found SPS Timber Windows through Which Local. SPS replaced six casement windows, a kitchen door and the entire front door assembly over a two week period at the end of March - early April. We had researched double glazing services and had quotes from national suppliers, which were in fact cheaper than SPS. From the first visit in December 10 through to the final lick of paint, the service and attention to detail was outstanding. Communication was consistent- we never needed to ask when or if something was going to happen and all our expectations were managed. The project management of the process was faultless. In terms of quality of product an installation, I doubt you will find better. The install team cared about our property and went to extraordinary lengths to keep disruption and dust/debris to a minimum. They also cared about the security of our house. The detail of the finishing both internal and external was first class and the craftsmen (because that is what they are) took pride in the quality of their work. Yes it costs more than the Anglias' of this world but boy the differnce shows. If you care about how your home looks and are seeking replacement double glazing then SPS need to be on your shopping list.

Very highly specified products, with an experienced and polite installation team that performed impressively well. Clean and tidy workers, they took care not to damage our polished wooden flooring or other decor. Surveyors also excellent; the windows and doors fitted first time with little problem. I would suggest getting in the cleaners for a day, after the installation because inevitably, dust gets everywhere despite the installation team's best efforts! We are extremely pleased with this team's work and it was a joy to see that they took pride in their workmanship.

Simon, Sandis and the whole team at SPS did a fantastic job of replacing old box sash windows (12 in total) plus 3 casements and some french doors. We had quotes from 5 different companies and SPS came out averagely priced. They know their stuff, are honest, skilled and the windows speak for themselves. We have had so many people comment on them and i'm sure our energy bills will be significantly lower in the coming years as a result. They are a popular and busy company so the lead time was 12-14 weeks but it was well wrth the wait.

Really happy with excellent service and superb quality from the whole team at SPS. Had all the front wooden bay sashes replaced on 1900 semi in Wimbledon. Beautiful finish, true to original but much better! Highly recommended, not the most expensive quote by far and good value for money - as a previous reviewer said, you get what you pay for.

Simon Porter, Sandis Kivlandis and their team of craftsmen offer a high-quality service. They replaced badly degraded Victorian box sash windows in my house on the front bays both downstairs and upstairs (where they also replaced single window). Work was scheduled accurately and carried out remarkably quickly (3 days start to finish for fitting). All surrounds were immaculately made good both inside and out; the rooms were left spotless at the end of each day. Even though not the cheapest deal in town, they get a 5 for value because they work with great efficiency to a standard that would be hard to better. My house is now warmer, quieter and looks so much better. This was a major undertaking carried out with minimal disruption and represents a very worthwhile investment.

We used SPS Timber Windows for replacement wooden windows in a 1930's house. The customer care was of a very high standard and any problems or concerns were dealt with quickly and effectively. All those responsible for the installation and painting (mainly Rafal, Milosz and Bill with Sandis managing the whole process) were very pleasant and worked with great care. They were also punctual, tidy and worked very hard. The attention to detail was very high and we are extremely pleased with the result. We would strongly recommend this company, without hesitation.

SPS replaced 9 louvre windows with double-glazed sash windows, including two bay windows. The workmen were very thorough, particularly when it came to touching up the paintwork and ensuring they were finished to a high standard. All the windows look great and work really well.

Highly professional service and superb quality of windows. It was amazing how little disruption there was and, incredibly, that somehow the house was cleaner after the fitters had tidied up at the end of the day than before they started. Not sure what that says about my housekeeping, but very impressive.

SPS have neatly fitted a sturdy, attractive sash window, and to all specifications. The workmanship seems good and staff are genial. The only criticism I have is with their communication. I was expecting them to come and fit the window on 3rd Sept. It wasn't actually ready until the following week but no-one informed me of this.

We found SPS Timber Windows on Which?Local.The good review encouraged us to make contact. From the first contact to the last work everything went just as one would want it. Questions were answered, appointments were made. The works were done precisely as promised. The people doing the works were ever so pleasant. Very hard working, leaving everything top clean and tidy. You wouldn't know that work has been done. The quality of the woodwork and the glass is excellent, the windows slide like "butter'. Yes, it was expensive. But here you get for 100% what you pay for.

We had new double glazed french doors and sash windows fitted by SPS Timber Windows. The quality of the service, the product and the fitting has been excellent. The design and proportion of the doors and windows are perfect - they look great - and the finish is top quality. They are not the cheapest quote we had, but worth every extra penny we spent. One piece of advice a friend gave me was that if you spend most of your time looking out the french doors, make sure they look nice. Very wise words...

We had two large sash windows replaced in the bedroom and a small casement window in the bathroom. Because we live in a conservation area we had to have planning permission, and SPS were very helpful and co-operative in sending through the plans etc. The windows are lovely, and the decorator who made good afterwards was painstakingly thorough.

We had 2 large bay windows and one other replaced with double glazing which had to be in sympathy with what we already had. The overall experience was very professional. The carpenters were efficient, very clean and finished off the job perfectly.

They replaced an old sliding sash window with a doubled galzed sliding sash. Good quality wood and nice solid feel to the new window. The cost was £1090 plus VAT. The window was roughly 5 feet high by 3 feet wide.
