I asked Iain to fit a wall mounted stair rail. He came to assess the job the day after I contacted him. He arrived promptly on the date set to do the work and quickly completed it. His price was fair and I am completely satisfied with the finished job.

I contracted Iain Ward of Sundale to fit a new kitchen and click-vinyl flooring in my kitchen-diner refurb in the summer of 2021. Iain is what every customer would want from a tradesman; he was reliable, punctual, trustworthy, knowledgeable and obviously very experienced in all of the various tasks that were required. But what stood out, even more, was Iain's friendly, helpful demeanour and his determination to deliver a top quality service and customer satisfaction. As a Customer Service & Customer Experience professional of 40+ years I don't use these words lightly. Iain gave me excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend him as he is truly world-class.

Iain impressed us from the start because he listened to what we wanted and came up with good comments, about both practical and aesthetic aspects. We needed something simple, but made to match an existing built in cupboard in a room with a very high ceiling. This must have been a relatively small job for Iain, who is clearly a skilled and experienced craftsman, but he took as much care with it as he no doubt does with major projects. The end result was exactly what we had hoped for in the way it looks, and infinitely better from a practical point of view, thanks to Iain's good suggestions. Iain's quote was competitively priced, but this alone would not necessarily have been a deciding factor. We could see that Iain would be a considerate person to have around, and he certainly was. He texted to remind us the day before work was scheduled to start, and arrived when he said he would. There was a minor hitch with doors because the supplier sent the wrong ones. Iain's approach to problem solving was flexible and good humoured. We can recommend Iain highly, without reservation, on every count, and he is top of our list of people to call on when we need any further work to be done.

Thank goodness there a still a few proper "old school" craftsmen like Iain! We needed a simple repair to a hardwood window where there had been water ingress and a small part of the frame had rotted. Three firms came out and said a new window was necessary (bespoke of course) costing in excess of £1,300 to nearly £2,000. However, Iain said he could repair it which he did this morning and once it's painted you'd never know it had been repaired. As a result, we have asked him to do more work for us including fitted bedroom wardrobes. I can't sing his praises highly enough.

We found Iain on Which? Trusted Traders and although he was booked up for a couple of months in advance, it was well worth the wait to get such an excellent result to finish off our kitchen renovations. He sourced and hung 7 doors for us, with one being a very odd size requiring cutting to size, and the finished work is immaculate and exceeded our expectations. I had incorrectly measured one of the doors and he returned this to the supplier himself and collected the correct one at no extra cost to ourselves. We were so happy with this job, which was very competitively priced, that we asked Iain to create an oak window seat in our dining room which he did with fantastic craftsmanship and the finished seat looks superb. He always answered our emails and was very accommodating with all our requests and we highly recommend him for all joinery and carpentry projects around the home.

We had a typically seventies stair case with very wobbly newel posts, no handrails or banister and some annoyingly squeaky stair treads. Iain was among a few joiners that we invited to quote for the job. He impressed us from the beginning with his attitude, helpful advice and obvious passion for his work. We have ended up with a traditional style staircase in oak that exceeds our expectations and gets admiring comments from friends and visitors. At last, a tradesman that I will have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you Iain.

We broke our garage door and weren't sure if it could be repaired or if we would need new doors, and were expecting the worst. Iain quoted a modest fee (much lower than we expected) to repair the doors, and was able to fit us in around his other jobs within a couple of days as we use the garage as a main exit for our buggies. Iain beat expectations all-round in terms of quality, speed and cost. We would highly recommend

Iain at sundale has designed and produced cabinets to both sides of our fire place to our sketches and pictures. We are delighted with the finished result and can't praise Iain enough for his commitment to a job well done, with an extremely friendly and personable service. I highly recommend this company.
