I was looking to replace old inefficient storage heaters that were running on economy 7. Although the night rate on E7 was attractive the day rate was charged at a premium and the heaters did not produce any heat in the evenings when you require it. I looked at many systems and decided that the electric radiator heating systems provided by the original German designed clay core elements were worth investigating. I contacted a suppler of a German manufactured product and requested a price list to achieve a rough estimation of cost and agreed to a site survey. On the day of the survey no price list was produced only a scribbled note of the total price and consistent pressure sales tactics to sign today as the price kept reducing, with still no sign of a published pricing structure. I terminated the discussion. I contacted Sunflow a UK manufacture of a similar product and experienced a completely different experience. Indicative pricing was supplied at the first request, I booked a survey and he arrived and carried out a survey. I received a written quotation that night, and over the next few days he answered all of my questions and queries and we agreed a price that included removal and disposal of the storage heaters, and full installation of Sunflows fully integrated wifi controlled heating system. An installation date was agreed and I sent a deposit off. The installation was carried out on the due date. The installation was carried out efficiently and all mess cleared away. The 11 radiators were all tested and working. A brief explanation of the web based App was explained and was advised that a video was available for instructions. I paid the balance after installation as agreed. The whole experience was very good and the only negative I would make is that the standard manually controlled thermostats come with a detailed booklet, but there is not one available for the wifi controlled linked radiators. The video is not detailed enough as many features I have since discovered are not explained in the video. I would urge Sunflow to produce a booklet explaining all the options available. I cannot comment on the cost of running as have not experienced a winters use yet, but I do not expect to have increased electricity cost because of the controls and most importantly we will be warm at all times, something we didn't have with the storage heaters.
