We had the good fortune to find out about Jamie and his business in 2020 via Checkatrade, where we read reviews of his work and his consistently high customer ratings and range of skills. In the last twelve months Jamie and his team have visited us on several occasions and carried out a range of work - from clearing our blocked drains and replacing radiators, to installing a Hive heating system (which has already saved us a considerable sum of money!). On every occasion we experienced the best in customer service - our initial phone calls were returned speedily, and the team called promptly and carried out the necessary work professionally and efficiently. They also showed full consideration to us by observing Covid safeguards inside our property, and took every trouble with tidying up fully afterwards. The invoices we have received were in agreement with the original quotation given - and in one case was actually less. We would have no hesitation in recommending this trader to anyone needing work of this type done efficiently and to the highest standard and at an honest price.

I am having to rent my flat out and am required by the estate agent to have the boiler serviced and obtain a gas safety certificate. I have used Jamie at TMG for almost 6 years after he was recommended to me by my electrician. I've used Jamie to service my boiler and fix other issues I've had in my flat. Jamie is a very competent, professional and hard working tradesman. He's very knowledgeable and friendly and goes above and beyond - he's helped fix leak issues from previous works at my flat and attended call outs no matter time or day. He was able to service my boiler and do the gas safety checks for me on a Sunday as that was the only day off I had from work, so he's very flexible which is really helpful. He does jobs properly and doesn't try and cut corners (as I've experienced with others in the past). I would recommend Jamie in a heartbeat to anyone and will continue to use him for all my plumbing/gas needs.

Jamie came to look at our cylinder after it started making some loud banging noises. He helpfully explained the makeup of the boiler (something that previous plumbers hadn't bothered to do) and what was wrong, and then came back a few days later with a couple of colleagues to replace the pressure relief valve, reinflate the internal air gap, and replace some of the piping, plus adding an on-off switch for the mains water so we could reinflate the air gap ourselves in the future without having to call out a plumber. He also came another time to check our boiler for possible gas issues. He arrived very quickly, performed the tests, put the boiler back together and fixed the broken reset button in the process, charging us a very reasonable rate for the work. Jamie is very helpful, professional, and quick to respond when we have problems (our boiler and cylinder are both very old and have had repeated issues recently).

I have known Jamie from The Maintenance Guys for several years and he has done a lot of work in my home. He is knowledgeable and experienced, and always takes the time to explain what he is doing and why he is making certain suggestions and to give options. This makes it much easier to make an informed decision about what work needs to be done. He recently re-plumbed a new kitchen and bathroom, which included moving the boiler. It was a big job and I feel very happy with the work he and his team have done. His communication is great and the team's work ethic is impressive. When things had to be completed urgently so I could move back in, he and his team worked over the weekend to make it happen. Highly recommended!
