⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve used Thornton Electrical a few times over the years and they’ve always been excellent. Reliable, professional, and great to deal with. Work is always done to a high standard and nothing’s ever too much trouble. Highly recommend.

We contracted Thornton Electrical to replace a very old consumer unit. Following an EICR and the initial board change, multiple RCBO devices failed in the immediate days and weeks post the installation. Whilst we were anticipating some level of nuisance tripping may occur as part of these works, this problem manifested in a series of blown fuses rather then merely tripping. After calling them back several times to look at the problem, responses became slower and slower and we lost faith in their ability to provide root cause analysis and remediation of the problem. We called in a second company to inspect the installation, to ensure the board was safe as well as investigate the issues we were experiencing. Upon inspection they pointed out the installation lacked an SPD, contract to regulations. The second contractor installed the SPD unit and we have not suffered any further problems with the installation since. Formal complaints to Thorntons suggested that it was somehow my elderly mothers fault that one was not installed, despite it being mandatory to install one. They later stated that the engineer responsible had left, in a thin attempt to separate themselves from the overall responsibility to conform to these regulations. As a result we cannot recommend their services

I'm really pleased I have discovered an Electrical firm that is dependable. It's always a big worry opening your property to new tradespeople and I am so relieved that this team have completed the work (which admittedly was only a small job) so well. I was really happy with their communication, quote, promptness, consideration, politeness, help and cleanliness. A true breath of fresh air compared to some trades people. I have used Thornton Electrical on several occasions and have always been extremely satisfied with both their work and customer relationship. On this occasion we had a problem with an electrical circuit that kept fusing. Stephen responded quicker than I anticipated to the problem and initially gave us an opinion as to what the remedial action might comprise of (his visit was on a Friday morning a few hours after contacting him). We had ‘temporary’ powered over the weekend and at 8:30am Monday morning Stephen accompanied by two of his team attended the house and, after an hour or so, had tested the ground floor circuit and came up with a solution to the problem! Remedial work was carried out and by midday the electricity supply was back up and running , and repairs were made good and debris cleared up. I inherited 30-year old (ugly) storage heaters in the lounge and hallway when I purchased this small flat in a retirement complex a few months ago. I was interested in having Stiebel Eltron wall mounted convector heaters installed and Thornton Electrical came and advised me. They removed the old storage heaters and moved a (fairly new) 2kw wall mounted Stiebel Eltron convector heater from the lounge to the hallway and installed new (matching) 1kw and 3kw heaters in the lounge. Did various work to the fuse box. Very pleased with the work, neat and tidy, and the price came under what I had budgeted for this work, so doubly pleased.

What a service I received. On time, polite staff, no mess and explained everything they had done in order to repair my lighting. Your staff are a credit to your company. Everything I asked to be done was done with 100% satisfaction to me. I have used other companies in the past, but after your FANTASTIC service will never use any one else. Thornton's quoted for the work promptly, arranged a mutually agreeable time, arrived when they said they would, carried out the work as arranged, cleared up the mess and returned the keys immediately. No worry and no problems. Excellent job.

Thornton completed a full rewire of my house. Reasonable quote, work completed as agreed with no issues. Would recommend to anyone looking for electrical work, small or large.
