Established in 1998 Thornton Electrical (London) Ltd has attained a steady growth in business and reputation across North London and Hertfordshire. We carry out all electrical work from electrical inspections, testing and reports, to complete system design and installation, intruder alarm systems and emergency lighting systems. We are experts at working in varied environments including schools, Sports/ Leisure Centers, Public houses, retail outlets and residential properties.
We offer a friendly and professional service and are totally committed to providing our customers both new and old the highest quality workmanship at all times. To enforce this commitment to our customers we are registered NICEIC approved contractor and Domestic Installer. This guarantees all our works are carried out according to the most current regulations and standards. We also follow strict Health and Safety practices and hold a Public Liability Insurance. I'm really pleased I have discovered an Electrical firm that is dependable. It's always a big worry opening your property to new tradespeople and I am so relieved that this team have completed the work (which admittedly was only a small job) so well. I was really happy with their communication, quote, promptness, consideration, politeness, help and cleanliness. A true breath of fresh air compared to some trades people. Highly recommended and I am comforted that I feel I can rely on them moving forward when I next need to.

I have used Thornton Electrical on several occasions and have always been extremely satisfied with both their work and customer relationship. On this occasion we had a problem with an electrical circuit that kept fusing. Stephen responded quicker than I anticipated to the problem and initially gave us an opinion as to what the remedial action might comprise of (his visit was on a Friday morning a few hours after contacting him). We had ‘temporary’ powered over the weekend and at 8:30am Monday morning Stephen accompanied by two of his team attended the house and, after an hour or so, had tested the ground floor circuit and came up with a solution to the problem! Remedial work was carried out and by midday the electricity supply was back up and running , and repairs were made good and debris cleared up. Not only were the team effective and efficient, they were very responsive and patient to my ‘forever’ questions!! Thankyou , once again. Ian

I inherited 30-year old (ugly) storage heaters in the lounge and hallway when I purchased this small flat in a retirement complex a few months ago. I was interested in having Stiebel Eltron wall mounted convector heaters installed and Thornton Electrical came and advised me. They removed the old storage heaters and moved a (fairly new) 2kw wall mounted Stiebel Eltron convector heater from the lounge to the hallway and installed new (matching) 1kw and 3kw heaters in the lounge. Did various work to the fuse box. Very pleased with the work, neat and tidy, and the price came under what I had budgeted for this work, so doubly pleased.

Asked this company to undertake various jobs at one of my rental properties including changing a damaged power socket, sorting out a new electrical supply for then fitting a new electric hob, plus carrying out change of tenant NICEIC inspection. Found them to be responsive to phone calls, turned up when agreed and carried out the work efficiently to a high standard clearing up as soon as they had finished. I dealt with Richard who was pleasant and helpful, answering my many questions with obvious knowledge of his trade guiding me to a solution that was legal and cost effective. Would happily use them again for similar work or larger job

My old fuse board was changed for a new fuse-board and a new cable was run to my summer house for garden lighting. Richard and Tom explained the job clearly, were obviously very experienced and the work was done cleanly in the planned time. Really can’t fault this company. They have been operating for 20 years and it shows. I would highly recommend them.

The work was carefully planned, taking into account any requests we made, and was carried out neatly and efficiently. The electrician was at all times polite and considerate. An excellent service was afforded by Thornton Electrical. during work carried out in autumn 2014 and Spring 2015. My whole kitchen and bedroom was re-wired when it was renovated, an up to date circuit board was installed and an extractor fan in the bathroom. The whole of the house for checked while the work was being carried. The service was efficient and carefully undertaken to the best standard I could have ever asked for. During the kitchen refit the electricians fitted in very well with the kitchen fitter and he himself was most complimentary and impressed about the knowledge and service of the electricians. The service was always prompt, courteous and very reliable. Helpful and useful advice was given about electrical equipment and types of fittings which could be used. We are more than happy with the work carried out and would have no hesitation in recommending Thornton Electrical to you.
