Total Home Solutions (THS) are part of the Smith and Byford group and specialise in delivering Gas, Electrical and Plumbing services to local private Homeowners and Landlords. Our THS team operate from our showroom, located in Cheam Village, which was first opened in 2012.

We were very happy with the installation of our new boiler. The engineers arrived on time, worked hard, were friendly and above all tidy. We had an initial issue where we had to change the installation date at very short notice and Emma was very understanding and very helpful in rearranging everything for us. All in all a very good experience and would definitely recommend them to family & friends.

My boiler installation was a particularly challenging job due to the length and set-up of the flue, including the considerable height at which it ran. In the months between the thorough and informative survey carried out by Derek, right to the post-installation phase, I received timely and comprehensive administrative support from Emma, expertly addressing any query or concern. In my long-term experience with the company, the office staff have consistently been a considerable asset, and the job was impeccably organised. The two installers, Andy and Bryn, proved very likeable, highly capable and remarkably tidy, ensuring that the work area was left spotless at the end of each day. Their presence over the installation period never felt intrusive. I would not hesitate in highly recommending Smith & Byford Total Home Solutions, particularly to those who consider focussed customer support a priority.

Leaking washbasin: problem diagnosed, suitable replacement sourced and installed

Simon explained clearly what was causing the leak, and the pros/cons of mending or replacing. I decided on replacement. Simon found a suitable new basin in a similar style, and installed it very quickly and efficiently. Such a relief! Very happy with this work.

Extremely pleased with the service (as I have been over the last decade or so), but on this occasion, an engineer, by going the extra mile, found a remedy that saved me the cost of a new boiler. Great result and I would fully recommend S & B to others. Always a delight to deal with the team at the end of the phone as well.

I recently had a problem with the plumbing in my kitchen so I phoned Smith & Byford, Cheam to book a call out, which was booked for the next day. The plumber arrived on time and proceeded to investigate the problem. Finally discovered faulty taps. He said he would contact the office to order the parts. Within a few days I received an email with an invoice for the work which I agreed to and arranged a day and time for the fitting. This worked perfectly, the problem was solved. The whole experience went very well, the office staff were friendly and the plumber very professional and answered any questions that I asked him.

I chose this company on the recommendation of a neighbour and I wasn’t disappointed. From the first phone call to the day of boiler installation the team were really helpful. We had lots of questions which Emma addressed quickly and efficiently. When it appeared that we might have to wait for a while for an installation date she moved things around in the diary to get to us more quickly. The whole team was friendly and professional, the work was carried out quickly to a high standard and the aftercare has been great.

I recently had a leak in the central heating system, at short notice a phone call to Total Home Solutions, at Smith and Byford, the office girls directed an engineer to me at short notice and rectified the issue straight away and waited a while to see if his remedy had worked which I am pleased to say it did.

How to break the ice.

As you would expect, the worst possible time for central heating to break down, would be one of the coldest night this winter, on a weekend. Things were more difficult because there was a problem electrical with boiler. Once that was sorted out, a new part was requested and fitted. By then, we were finally warm. Even then, a new pump had to be installed. There were several difficult problems which the engineers had to sort out. Everything is now back to normal, thank goodness. I have to say that that Smith and Byford have done a great job, not just the engineers but also the office staff. They were all really helpful.
