Bluebell Fitted Furniture has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for July 2023.

Based in Cheshire, the company designs, builds and fits high-quality furniture for bedrooms, kitchens, home offices and more. They have been endorsed by Which? Trusted Traders for 10 years.

We spoke to Alison Reuben, founder and co-director of Bluebell Fitted Furniture Ltd, to find out more about their business and the benefits of being a Which? Trusted Trader.

Quality and customer service at the heart of the business

Bluebell Fitted Furniture was established in Cheshire in 1992, with the aim of producing quality furniture using a unique approach.

Instead of using subcontractors, Bluebell employs a full-time workforce, which enables the company to take full control of its projects from start to finish. As well as designing and fitting, it manufactures all its furniture at its factory in Altrincham, using locally sourced products wherever possible. 

The success of this approach is reflected in the company’s outstanding reviews - Bluebell Fitted Furniture has an average rating of 4.8 stars, including 4.9 stars for both customer service and quality.

One reviewer wrote: ‘A quality product, perfectly bespoke, expertly crafted, stylishly designed and fitted without fuss to produce an elegant finish. I cannot recommend Bluebell Fitted Furniture more highly.’

As well as three Which?  Trusted Trader of the Month awards (in May 2018, May 2021 and now July 2023), the company also picked up a gong for Customer Service Excellence at the Northwest Family Business Awards in 2021.

Giving back to charity and the local community

Bluebell’s Charity of the Year for 2023 is Variety, which provides practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.

The company has also donated to the Raring2go! Sunflower Competition for two years in a row, which provides children with free sunflower seeds that they can grow. The tallest sunflowers win prizes.    

Not only does Bluebell Fitted Furniture donate to charity, the company also works closely with organisations that support local businesses. These include Promoting Trafford, which supports the collaboration of local businesses across Trafford.

As the co-director of Bluebell, and a woman working within a traditionally male field, Alison is keen to support and encourage other women in business, providing advice and mentorship to others whenever possible. 

These efforts didn’t go unnoticed by our judging panel: ‘The amount of charity work they do is really impressive,’ said one of our judges. ‘It’s obvious that they care about their community and how to promote better business.’

Which? Trusted Traders celebrates quality craftmanship and generates new business

Bluebell Fitted Furniture displays its Which? Trusted Traders awards prominently on its vans, promotional materials and in its showroom.

‘We feel safe in the knowledge that being vetted and approved as one of your recognised traders speaks volumes to our customer base,’ said Alison. They can be confident they are in safe hands.’

She also reports that these awards have helped to generate more business for their company, saying that the endorsements have ‘time and time again proved a reliable source in increasing our chances of winning business in an extremely competitive market – a humbling accolade and great return on our membership.’
