We spoke to Mark Barwell and Mark Ford, joint Managing Directors of Easystep Stairlifts Ltd, to find out more about their business and the benefits they get from being a Which? Trusted Trader.

Almost twenty years of excellence
Nearly two decades ago, joint Managing Directors Barwell and Ford spotted a gap in the market and believed they could provide a better service than was currently available. Previously, they had worked for another company but were unhappy with the management team and business practices.
‘We decided things could be done so much better so we started on our own. Nearly twenty years later we’re now Which? Trusted Traders of the month.’ Barwell and Ford reflected on their business journey.
The extent of the business and the team have grown over time. Easystep Stairlifts has expanded to operate throughout most of England and Wales, and the company now employs eight full time staff members.
A business priority for Barwell and Ford is customer satisfaction. They said: ‘To have our customers so happy with the services we provide makes everything worthwhile.’ In an industry that caters for customers who are often elderly or struggling with health problems, a positive, considerate customer experience is essential.

He fitted it all without any mess at all and explained carefully the details of how to use the stairlift ...and keeping his distance with a mask. The stairlift works brilliantly and is such a help to my husband, thank you all.’

In a previous month, Easystep Stairlifts came very close to being awarded Which? Trusted Trader of the Month. The company returned this month with an improved application that demonstrated they had really listened to the judges feedback.

It's great to see them implementing our feedback and suggestions and showing improvement. Loads of effort in the application but it all stems back to their customers and how they can improve their experience. Definitely a worthy winner!’
