Spirit Energy has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for June 2026

Endorsed since January 2024, the Reading-based company specialises in solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging solutions. 

We caught up with Mark Golding, Head of Sales at Spirit Energy, to discuss the company’s recent developments and find out what the Which? Trusted Trader endorsement means to their team.

Over 15 years of solar innovation and growth

Established in 2010 with its own in-house installation teams, Spirit Energy has completed over 6,000 installations to date, both commercial and domestic. 

The customer journey is carefully supported at every stage - beginning with a free, bespoke design service and technical survey, and ending with comprehensive post-installation support from a dedicated support manager. 

Spirit Energy also offers an online knowledge bank, a regular newsletter, and a popular YouTube channel that has amassed over two million views. These resources include case studies and technical explanations (eg of different battery types), allowing consumers to build their solar knowledge before making financial commitments.

‘Our YouTube channel helps educate customers on all things solar,’ said Mark. ‘Along with our reputation, it’s one of the things that makes me most proud to work for the company.’

One customer from Greater London wrote: ‘My system was installed in January 2023 and has been running perfectly for two and a half years. Saving customers money, and helping the environment

The team has achieved massive real-world impacts since 2020 - their installations generate roughly 12.75 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity annually. Based on average UK household consumption, this is enough to power approximately 3,640 homes every single year.

This will save clients roughly £3 million per year on electricity bills, and prevent 2,500 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere each year. 

Their commercial clients include Cobham Services, St Luke’s Care Home, and Wolverton Swimming and Fitness Centre - this last project is forecast to save the centre £63,000 in electricity bills in its first year.
