Twenty years of excellence

Easystep Stairlifts recently celebrated twenty years of being in business as well as their eigth anniversary of being a Which? Trusted Trader. It began when joint Managing Directors Barwell and Ford spotted a gap in the market and believed they could provide a better service than was currently available. At EasyStep stairlift the ethos is: ‘we all work towards the same goal: to help others. We can see that we are making a difference. A stairlift can have a positive impact on the whole family, the ability to again climb the stairs is a great reward and the appreciation that we receive is satisfying.'

The extent of the business and the team have grown over time. Easystep Stairlifts has expanded to operate throughout most of England and Wales, and the company now employs eight full time staff members.

A business priority for Barwell is sustainability. Easystep strongly endorse the use of reconditioned equipment and have very high standards in regard to maximising the sustainability of their operations and the affordability of our service. It is clear to see that they go the extra mile for their customers, prioritising their needs and providing the best service possible in any way they can.

This is the second time Easystep Stairlift has won Trusted Trader of the Month. Mark Barwell Managing Director, reflects on what it means to win this award again. ‘It’s amazing. We are so proud to call ourselves two-time, award-winning Trusted Traders. It is an incredible achievement for us, especially when we see the quality and standards of the previous winners.  To win this prestigious award twice is unbelievable and we certainly appreciate Which? for recognising our efforts and honouring us with the award.

Since winning the award back in June 2021 Easystep stairlift noted ‘we have seen an increase in the amount of people finding us through our accreditation with Which? and it is clear to see that the Which? name holds weight with our customers. We can see that our customers appreciate being able to trust us because of our association with WHICH? and this has benefitted us massively.

Recommended by 100% of customers

Easystep Stairlifts has maintained a perfect record of being recommended by 100% of customers since becoming a Which? Trusted Trader back in 2014. The company has superb scores of 5 out of 5 for customer service, and 4.9 out of 5 for both quality and value, which adds up to a very strong all round package.

Being endorsed by Which? Trusted Traders reinforces the values held by Easystep Stairslifts, with Mark saying that: ‘Which? is a brand that people instantly recognise and trust. That fits perfectly with our ethos.’

A recent reviewer from September 2022 said: ‘Having been rather nervous about going down the stair lift route in our home we couldn't have been more pleased we took the leap. From starting our enquiry to seeing the finished product the service and help we received could not have been better. The whole process took only a few days and the information we were given at each stage was first class.’

It is immediately noticeable that Easystep Stairlifts take the time to reply to every review left on their Which? Trusted Trader page. These interactions help develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Easystep Stairlifts impress account manager and judges

Across the eight years Easystep Stairlifts have been endorsed by Which? Trusted Traders, they have impressed everyone involved with running the scheme, including their account manager and the all-important judging panel for Which? Trusted Trader of the month.

Easystep Stairlifts are previous winners of Which? Trusted Trader of the Month, and this year were selected as a contender for Which? Trusted Trader of the Year. Despite not ultimately triumphing, to be picked as a potential winner is highly commendable.

The judges comments were effusive in their praise: ‘They are transparent, honest and offer a good service at a reasonable price, which is vital in this industry. I loved the consciousness around sustainability and the environment, plus their engagement with great charitable causes.’

The positive impacts that Easystep have brought to their local community and charities include:

  • Contributing towards the purchase and installation of a defibrillator for Markfield Hill Lane Estate, to the benefit of local businesses and sports fields.
  • One of Easystep’s directors climbed Snowdon mountain to raise money for Leicester Children’s Holidays, a local charity that helps unprivileged children with funding for school trips that they may otherwise have had to miss out on.
  • Provided sponsorship to local sports team Newtown Linford Cricket Club.

Which? Trusted Trader status gives customers faith and certainty

The managing director of Easystep Stairlift Mark Barwell said: ‘8 years ago this month, we joined Which? We felt back then that an association with Which?, the consumer champion, would only enhance and support our customers confidence in us a business. To this day, we do still believe in this and have not regretted our decision. Being a Which? Trusted Trader vetted business gives us a strong place in the market.’

If traders are considering joining the Which? Trusted Traders scheme, the advice from Easystep Stairlifts is: ‘Do it!! They know reviews are verified so can completely trust them.’Congratulations to Easystep Stairlifts Ltd for winning November 2022’s Which? Trusted Trader of the Month award.
