One proven measure to reduce emissions, is to have your appliance swept regularly and ideally, twice a year, regardless of whether it has been used only once in a year or every day.
This not only reduces emissions but improves the efficiency of your appliance, therefore making it more economical as well as reducing the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning and the build up of soot and creosote in your flue.
Your insurance may be invalidated without proof of a sweep should the unthinkable happen, even if due to an electrical fault.

I have been using this chimney sweep for some years now and have always found him polite, friendly and efficient. He assessed our chimneys and noticed we had a wasps nest. Not only did he clear the chimney and replace the fittings but he cleared our gutters while he was up there! An excellent service indeed.
