About
Edinburgh Gardeners and Tree Surgeons are a small team of experienced arborists and horticulturalists who can undertake all aspects of tree removal, tree pruning and awkward height work and also provide a comprehensive gardening service including lawn care, shrub pruning, hedge cutting, plant care, stonework, fencing and one-off tidy-ups. We take care of individual trees, gardens and large corporate grounds including letting agencies, housing associations and NHS properties - our standards are extremely high and we aim to deliver a high standard of customer satisfaction.
All of our team are highly experienced, fully qualified and insured so you can rest assured you are getting the best service. Owner Alan Dewar would be happy to discuss your needs and provice tree consultations. This is the third time we’ve used Alan and his team and it’s been great as usual. First job was back in 2017 pruning three large hollies and prunus tree. Second job was in 2020 removing those same trees. And we’ve just had them back to prune a large yew tree. His team are always really polite and get the job done efficiently and always tidy up afterwards. Also fairly priced. Highly recommend!

The job was to remove long-established ivy which was growing up the house and over windows. Alan and his team arrived on time and cleared the ivy very efficiently. They left the garden and the inside common stair - the only way to access the garden - in immaculate condition. I thought the price quoted was fair and they adhered to this. I have no hesitation in recommending them as a most professional, helpful and willing team.

Excellent service. Arrived promptly and worked until all trees and shrubs were cleared. Even kindly offered to remove some plants not in the quoted work. Removal of pampas grass looks to be very thorough with time taken to grind roots. A very fair price for the amount of work carried out. Cuttings all carefully removed.

Although I'd had a cheaper quote elsewhere I had no hesitation in using Alan and his team, his quote was still competitive. His knowledge of tree and plant types was clear and he provided helpful guidance in what I was trying to achieve. The job of removing several trees was completed professionally and all stumps ground away. Other overgrown shrubs were either removed or reduced as agreed. My garden was left clear and tidy afterwards. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else who needs garden or tree work done.

Alan and the guys were great. They made a really nice job of pruning back our overgrown shrubbery and tidying up the garden. They had a good eye and were happy to make suggestions, which were well received. They also made a nice job of trimming back a couple of trees whilst maintaining a nice shape. All done with the minimum of fuss and mess - I would definitely use these guys again.
