Ian was professional and proficient throughout, testing wiring and installing a new circuit board, wiring and plugs. He was friendly and very helpful. His charges were fair and I’d definitely use his services again. Highly recommended.

Contacted Ian in the morning on the basis of his good reviews on Which - wasn't disappointed. He was able to come out to my Mother-in-law's house same day and identified the problem quickly as a burnt out socket. He replaced the old one and made a point of showing me the damage. Very pleased with the speed and quality of service - will use Ian again in the future.

I have used Ian on a number of occasions over the years. I continue to use him for his quick response times, honesty, good workmanship, flexibility and advice. He also happens to be friendly and approachable. This time he fitted a light in our new porch which has a wireless switch, that can also be used with a fob! Although the light was extremely fiddly to fit, Ian did it with good humour. The wireless switch means not being restricted to where the switch can go. He also converted our outside lights, which he installed a few years ago, to a wireless switch. If anyone asks me to recommend an electrician I give Ian's name and number and have always had positive feedback.

Ian arrived bang on time, we had already discussed my lighting issues on the phone and he had given helpful interim advice. He talked me through the lighting issues in my bathroom, kitchen and lounge explaining exactly what the problems were and what needed to be done. 2 hours later everything was done and no mess left behind. I contacted Ian via a text message to get a quote for an EICR for the ground floor of my property. He responded very quickly and soon after we had a call to discuss the job. During that call he asked me quite a few questions and provided me with a quote, which was competitive. I accept the quote and we agreed on a date. Ian carried out the EICR and kept me informed throughout the process. As the main supply had to be interrupted many times he warned me in advance and on the day so I was able to still work from home with no interruptions to my work. This is the second job i have had done from Ian. Both times he was quick to arrive, knowledgeable and completed the job thoroughly and safely.

I reached out to Ian looking for a quote on EICR certification and some remedial work on a socket. He responded the same day and after providing him with additional info he was able to provide a quote price. This level of prompt & knowledgeable communication was maintained throughout, from arranging a convenient time for the work to be done and advising on found faults and the different sorts of alarms now required by law to then providing the EICR certificate and the invoice. Ian will be the first I call should I require a trusted and professional electrician again!

I bought a 3-bed house with 2 reception rooms. The house required a complete overhaul, including the redesign and overhaul of its electrics. I invited quotes from several of Which? Trusted Traders and what decided me on Foreman Electrical was the precision and transparency of Ian’s quote and obvious technical expertise. Other quotes were imprecise and cursory, whereas Ian invested a lot of time to understand the requirements of the project. As a matter of fact, he precipitated the forethought and pre-design of the living solution to my new home, and that ultimately paid dividends. The work Ian undertook included a complete rewiring of the house, installation of a new fuse board, and installation of lighting and electrical points throughout the house, as well as fire alarms. Ian is technically brilliant, and professionally reliable. I had to make changes to the plans and Ian was accommodating. Ian’s quote was precise and fully transparent, and his delivery was to plan and to deadline. Furthermore, Ian provided further assurance by arranging certification for all the works done. I have used Ian before for a previous job as he was recommended by a colleague of mine. The first job he did was carried out promptly and he fitted a new ring doorbell, as well as recommending light switches for our garage, which were previously in an awkward position, not close to our entrance. He discussed options on his first visit and then returned to complete the job with the products we had chosen, under his advice. We asked him to come back and rectify 2 double light switches in our living room which were temperamental. Ian provided a reasonable quote and came to carry out the work within the timeframe he had promised. He also fitted a new light switch which was broken in a downstairs w/c. His prices were competitive, and in addition, being in the local area he was able to come to do the job quickly. Ian also provided us with good advice regarding smoke alarms and recommended some on request, sending us links to aid our decision. He was really friendly and professional, cleaning up, leaving the area tidy. I would highly recommend him for electrical works and will use his services again in the future.

I found Ian on the Which Trusted Traders website and sent him an email on the morning of 25th. October 2023. I had a phone call back from him later in the same morning and, as he was just finishing a job in my area, he asked if it was convenient to 'pop in' in about 10 minutes - which it was. I needed an old ceiling light fitting removed from a bedroom and replaced by one I had already bought AND he also put up a ceiling light in my study to replace the old fashioned 'cord' and bulb which had been hanging there for years! He told me what the cost would be in advance as he was able to do the work there and then if it was convenient to me, which it was. The whole thing took less than an hour and I was charged a very reasonable price. Ian was pleasant and very helpful and I will certainly not hesitate to use him again.

I asked Ian to come and provide a quote for replacing some ceiling lighting at my flat, which I have just moved into. He gave helpful advice and suggestions for each job I was considering doing and shared his rates and possible costs. He swiftly followed up with a quote and we agreed a day for him to replace four ageing light fittings. On the day the work was done within the expected timeframe and quoted amount, all mess tidied up and a good job done. He's helpful and enthusiastic about his job and is happy to suggest solutions. Really pleased with the experience.

Ian changed 7 socket face plates for me. He came to quote for the job and then confirmed the day he would be able to complete it. He gave me notice before he arrived and completed the work. We also had a nice chat! Would definitely recommend.

I purchased some lights from a reputable major high street retailer who offered to fit them for me. When they came to do the work it was clear that it was beyond their capability and they left having removed the old lights without being able to connect the new ones. I called Ian out to fix the problem. Without any fuss he installed the new lights quickly and efficiently. What the retailers electrician had said was a difficult job turned out to be pretty routine for Ian. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone on the lookout for a good electrician.

We lost power in our dining room and part of our kitchen. I went on the Which Local site to look for an electrician and saw Ian's good reviews. I emailed him the problem, and he called me back although he was on holiday. He called in immediately on his return, he explained very clearly how we could get over the problem. He emailed me a quote which I accepted and he returned a few days later to start the work. The work took 1.5 days, and he did a very neat and tidy job. I would recommend Ian to anyone who needs an electrician, as he is a friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable electrician.

Finally decided to change the lights in our living and dining room to spotlights. Ian very kindly came around to have a look at our existing layout as well as get an understanding of what we wanted. Lockdown meant working from home in the winter months we just didn’t have enough light, with our living room never having had a main centre light. Ian very kindly listened to our ideas before offering some solutions. He showed some pictures of how things would look in both rooms. He also explained how he would need to fix the lights. One was working from the rooms above (which meant more work as it involved pulling up carpets and floorboards) or cutting a channel in the ceiling. This was less work but meant the channel would need to be filled in (he recommended someone to do the plastering). Ian measured out where the lights would go, 10 in one room and 4 in the other, then checked with us that we were happy before cutting the channel into the ceiling. I was expecting a lot of noise and dust but Ian made sure there was dust sheets down and cleaned up as he went so there was very little dust in the room. He also very kindly explained about the safety of earthing the wiring and as part of the work he did this as well. He explained the difference in spotlights and their respective brightness, all of which he ordered for us. He also fitted dimmer switches on our request. Our rooms are now brighter than ever. We can’t recommend Ian enough. Definitely a trusted electrician.

I contacted Ian because his reviews were excellent and I was considering an electrical report on a house we are buying. He talked me through the process and gave me lots of useful tips and information to help us think about the issue. He then offered to look at some paperwork we had on the house’s electrics. Ian’s advice and comments on the property were very helpful indeed, and made us think we probably didn’t need a report at this stage, so he has talked himself out of a job! I offered to pay for the advice but he said he was happy to help. His communication was clear and informative and interesting and we will definitely use him for our electrics in the future.

Ian was polite and efficient. I had a pull switch that had jammed and a 3 way switch which caused the circuit to fizz. He changed the pull switch and the switch after popping to the electrical wholesaler to pick up a new switch.

I contacted Ian to source and fit 9 mains smoke and heat alarms in our house. I didn’t know much about the options available but Ian provided useful information and guidance, which enabled me to come to a decision. He also came to do a quote in person so he could accurately quote on the scope of the job. He was able to purchase the alarms and came to fit them the next day. Ian was polite, helpful, informative and efficient during the fitting, and followed up promptly with the additional reports to prove the alarms were working correctly. Very pleased with his work and would recommend.

I had several jobs for replacing the fuse board, fixing a couple of plugs, new smoke alarms and checking some other items. Ian was more than thorough, clean and tidy, providing certified documentation and videos of what he had done and how it works. He is very trustworthy and good value for money for a job well done

Ian re-wired our house which we bought and were renovating back in 2017 and he has looked after our electrical needs since then. At the time, he was reassuringly more knowledgeable than the earlier electrician and carried out the job and all subsequent jobs to a high standard and is very reliable, positive and friendly. He has just carried out some wiring for my elderly father who has dementia, he was very sensitive to the situation and my father was reassured and happy. I am happy to recommend him.

Ian completed the electrical work required for our new outbuilding, which included upgrading outdated wiring on our home's main board. He was very pleasant to work with, showed up when he said he would, came up with creative solutions when problems arose, and ran wiring so neat and tidy it's a shame it's now hidden by plasterboard. I won't hesitate to call him for future jobs and recommend him to others needing an electrician.
