I first contacted Ryan needing further investigation following a survey we had done to a house we were buying. He quickly visited to carry out an inspection, and supplied an in-depth, easy-to-understand evaluation of the state of the house and potential works that might need doing. As someone who hasn't the first clue about these things, I was conscious to use someone trustworthy who would provide an honest evaluation. Ryan did exactly this. He took the time to talk me through what he's found, and made fair recommendations without pressuring us to follow through with the works. On moving into the property, we asked Ryan and the team to carry out some of the more urgent work (clearing sub-floor ventilation). They were very accommodating, fitting us in at short notice, and the team were friendly, efficient and tidy! I wouldn't hesitate to use Ryan again or recommend him to anyone needing any damp proofing works doing on their property.

I found Ryan (RB Plastering and Damp-Proofing) via Which? Trusted Traders and asked him to undertake an inspection at my mum's house in Prestwich (Manchester), following a sale falling through due to concerns raised in a buyer's survey. It was a tricky job as I was expecting a lot to need doing, and we couldn't meet in person as the house is currently vacant and I'm helping to sort this out from Sheffield (where I live). At the time of inspection the covid stay at home order was still in effect. His inspection report was clear and his quote for undertaking damp proofing and timber repairs was competitive, hence we were happy to instruct him to undertake the repairs a month later. Ryan completed the work over 5-6 days. Because the house was vacant, Ryan sent numerous photos each day so we could see the progress. He also called to discuss any decisions that might need making around how/whether to move shelving or the fireplace etc. Ryan was professional throughout the inspection and subsequent works. Always calling my mum or me to talk through his findings, what works necessary and what was 'good to have but not urgent'. His customer service was excellent and works completed to a high standard. I would definitely recommend Ryan for similar works in future.

We contacted RB plastering and damp proofing back in October when we purchased a house that needed a full damp course treatment. As first-time renovators we were concerned that we needed a trusted tradesman that would not only be reliable but talk us through the process to make sure we understood the do's and don'ts of damp proofing. Ryan came to take a look at the work and quoted us for the work within a week, he talked us through the process really clearly and was on hand to answer any questions, not just at the start of the project but throughout. He was clear, helpful and completely reliable, an experience we've lacked using other tradespeople. We couldn't be happier with the work he'd done and honestly don't think we'll find tradespeople as good as him and his team ever again. They came and did the work providing regular updates and putting us at ease if things of our doing unrelated to the damp proofing didn't go to plan. He's made our renovation journey so much less stressful and we are so grateful that we decided to use his team - we know that we have a reliable tradesman that we can count upon if anything needs fixing in future, which knowing the quality of his work will be very unlikely. I think these reviews are often a deciding factor when asking for quotes and that's why felt it so important to make sure people know just how fantastic RB really are.

Ryan offered a free quote to assess what work needed doing. He advised we had condensation on an internal wall due to no vents on the front and back of the house, and that we also had a small area of rising damp on the chimney breast. The quote was clear and outlined the scope of work and how long it would take. I am very happy with the work that has been completed, all to a very high standard. Vents added to the front and back of the house, damp proofed the internal wall & chimney breast. Then re-plastered both walls. Also included a cost to have a joiner fit new skirting boards. Arrived on time everyday and answered all my questions with detailed answers. Cleaned up after the works were completed. I would highly recommend RB for any plastering/damp proof works.

Absolutely fantastic experience with these guys. Communication, reliability, professionalism and workmanship were all second to none. They did a brilliant job on the damp proof, the plastering is excellent and the new skirting is fitted beautifully. What's more, they tidied and cleaned their way out of the house as they left. A real pleasure to do business with.

Ryan and the team were first class right from the start to the end (damp survey, and recommendations, proposed works and delivery) . The project was large and they delivered on time and with great results. All the more amazing as this was done with COVID considerations through out. They work very diligently and always give you up to date information on how things are going. I can not thank them enough for their skills, delivery and attention to detail. Ryan and his team did a fantastic job with damp proofing my dining room and kitchen, replacing the joists and floorboards and replastering the walls. When Ryan realised that the job was bigger than first estimated (a skip was needed to clear what was under the old floorboards!), he quickly rang me to discuss what needed to be done next. Ryan's communication, care and professionalism is excellent and the team worked really hard and cleaned and mopped before they left.
